Good to know. I'm holding up. Lost most of the interest for the game, but I still come around here fairly regularly. I guess most of us are now just waiting and hoping for ME4... ;)

Yeah, I stopped playing for months, picked it up for a couple of weeks again, and then left it again.  Can't wait for ME4!

I rarely come by here either.  Just wanted to pop in and see if there was anyone I recognized and BS a little.

Too many credits are worthless because the store is slow.

They really should have patched the credits awarding variable in the coalesced. Seriously, it's so easy to award yourself a billion creds. They should have made MP stuff server side.

How long before ME3 was released did they put out the MP demo? I want to get right on any potential ME4MP demo so that I can get a leg up on the filthy casuals.

3 weeks. The demo came out on Feb 15 and the game came out March 6th.

After some frustrating games both from bad luck and because of cheaters in game I started to think the only way anything can be done about the cheating is to try understanding why do players cheat. This can lead to various solutions:

 

1.)Some feel they have to cheat to win- The only thing that can fix this is policing the game and making the consequences swift and certain while maintaining fairness to prevent a principle of the matter boycott. Missile glitches and god mode fall under this category

 

2.)The person who makes themselves immune to sync kills- Sync kills, contrary to what some players believe are not innately cheap. The execution in the game has been unfair though. One remedy is giving the player a chance to save themselves; life isn't fair but video games are not reality. Have the sync killers actually follow the programmed rules; I have been atuograbbed by Atlas upon their spawning without a ground pound and gutshotted by phantoms swinging at the air and blatantly missing everything too many times to say this isn't a problem. Again we play video games to escape the crap of life for those who want this element of realism include a hardcore mode, but for those of us who want a set of rules for "balance" or "fairness" make the AI play by the rules as honest players do. Third, give us a window of immunity after being revived, the instagrab when we can't even control our character is cheap (the save yourself chance makes this more tolerable but not much). Finally don't permit sync killers to camp a downed player it's as good as an autostomp sense we don't want to waste a gel only to be permakilled for the wave 0.01 seconds after gel.

 

3.)Immunity to stun lock hack- same issue with sync kills pretty much and same solutions. Possible addition have enemies respond to what should stun them, right now only stasis and singularity seem to reliably work regardless of host. Aside: if a GPS from a hunter to a krogan's rump can stop his charge then a reegar to the face should stop pinpoint shooting/elbow of dooming. 

 

4.)Credit Hacking- This one has a lot of self-justification excuses currently. To start fixing this host the servers so players aren't depended on someone else's internet and a super fast connection of their own, sorry but I have a hard time believing 85 Mbps cable is so inferior in quality I should be dc'd 17 out of 20 games. Second do something about the credits fail to be paid after the match glitch that sometimes happens right now; if I play a platinum game for 30 minutes I want my reward. Keep track of player progress and give them what they earned on a dc. Dc's are going to happen, but if every running game can be logged and reviewed to catch cheating, why can't it also pick up someone being unintentionally dropped vs self leaving (as you can't distinguish between rage quit and I'm too tired to focus etc these people are just sol for the match). Finally FIX THE BLOODY STORE! Having to play 900 hours to unlock everything on average (for quality gold players) is hogwash especially when the players have no say on what they get; if it's going to stay random keep it so in terms of you get field x at rarity y but the players get to choose from there so it doesn't feel like our chains are being jerked.

Not only you, but also to affect others the same way, which is even better ...worse, I meant worse :D

I agree with pretty much all of your post but feel the need to point out that players are already granted a brief period of invulnerability to all damage (even sync-kills) after they're revived or use a medi-gel. I've been saved from Phantom sync kills a few times due to that mechanic although I believe the window only lasts long enough to prevent the sync kills with the fastest animations.

I knew about the standard damage, but didn't think it applied to sync kills as I've seen rezed players whose characters start to pick themselves up get grabbed before even rising to their feet. Maybe it's just banshee shenanigans or the phantom being the phantom

They're probably just gonna store most stuff server side this time I guess.

That actually depends on whether ME4MP is gonna have a dedicated server or not. If Bioware is going with the P2P style again, then I doubt most stuff is gonna be stored server side.
