It still says + 50 health for me. -shrug- 25% melee defense is broken as hell. I hope that's a typo.
I'd rather have extra defence than 50 health that's going to do me no favours when it vanishes after the first couple hits.

I don't think he's talking about the melee defense in general being broken and hoping it's a typo... Just the 25% part.

Still getting 50 HP, but 10% defense sounds better even if a little bit odd that it's so much lower than the Elf and Dwarf % based buffs.
Static buffs like that tend to be either too strong at the beginning, or to weak in the end.

10% defense bonus sounds like it's protection against everything. Elf and Dwarf have bonuses to ranged defense and magic defense respectively. I can understand a 25% melee defense bonus. But not 25% defense bonus.

Actually the screenshot in the OP does state that it's melee only.
Of course melee tends to be the most used attack by enemies so it'd be a bit stronger than ranged or magic, but I still figured it would be about 15-20%.

I'd rather take 100% immunity to damage as a bonus ability.
that site doesn't even load up for me all the way. Am I the only one? I can't even pick a race or anything like that...nothing shows up. Thats with no script and ad blockers.
It's still +50 health over here, but I think in the end, 10% damage reduction would be a better/more useful bonus for Qunari. Let's see what BioWare decides to do.
My laptop cant load Dragonage.com, my phone loads it to some degree but not fully as it should....lots of blocks showing.

I think Qunari and 25% bonus to melee resistance makes the most since, and fits well with how the other race's bonuses fit them.
The Qunari is the only race that is available to me and it says 25% bonus to melee defense. East coast: 7:12 am.
In DA2 50 HP is quite a lot, and is equivalent to 10 points in constitution. That's more than 3 levels worth of attribute points.
That being said, malee defence/reduction bonus is probably better, due to non-regenerating health and the emphasis in combat put on protection and avoiding damage.
Is defense the avoidance or mitigation stat?
IIR there is armor (reduces damage) and defence (your chance to completely avoid attacks)?
Also does it stack additively or multiplicative?
To know how strong/weak this stat is we would need a early - mid and lategame enemy stat /attack vs player + obtainable gear + knowing the mechanics. I dont think its possible to predict how strong this is unless a dev feels like giving us some samples/examples.
