Kai Leng uses a Chinese Broadsword, without a sheath and wields it wrong.
Swords are one of the coolest weapons in existence, but they don't really fit into the Mass Effect universe that well. At least not the way they were presented in ME3.

Kai Leng isn't worthy of the Chaos Zweihänder and Grass Crest shield. He doens't even wear Giant's.
