So how will they handle the Warden's personality (if they show up at all)?

The warden is my character when i last checked i created character that i suited me of course in terms of ownership of the game bio is owner entire da setting.Best thing they can do is don't involve warden as pretty much most of devs do with blank pc in rpg after they are done with them.Simple i don't see point if warden being in the game if it isn't simple my warden and acts outside the warden i created pretty much breaking character that i created.

Wrong. BioWare created the character, and he/she written by them. You no longer control the Warden, therefore BioWare can do with him/her whatever they want to.

Not rly the warden is blank s/he doesn't have personality so bioware couldn't write him/her (save for backstory) as simple as i said s/he doesn't have personality.Bioware only provides dialogue options for player and then player creates own character using them and what player creates with that options bio can't simple know.As i said i don't see point destroying my character that i created just to bring random npc claming that it is the warden despite not being even smiliar to created one.

Keep him quiet like Red from Pokemon Gold and let him just kick ass. Hawke or some other person with the Warden can do all the talking.

The thing most people really want to know is WHY the Warden and Hawke disappeared into the ether and if they're connected in some way. Also, VA is NOT a legitimate complaint. Everybody forgetting that you have to choose between 5 preset voice tones? Saying 'My Warden doesn't sound like that!' is nonsensical since that's like saying 'Hawke doesn't sound like Nicholas Boulton/Jo Wyatt!', which is blatantly untrue given that's who their VA's are. If they can get the five presets to do the voicework and choose based on who you picked in character selection then people really can't complain about that at least. Personality's harder, though it's possible that their companions or other people will speak for them; hell Hawke could be their translator.

The thing is that they're unlikely to bring in all the preset voice tones (it's like 30? between all races and genders) whereas bringing back Boulton/Wyatt is pretty feasible.

Why do you need them to show he is competent ? Every blasted warden is competent . They don't need to show off really....I mean , if they survive the rite that speak volume already .

Well some peoples want to chat the warden up , me first ! and the game isn't about the warden..so he will not get the spotlight . That is why it is soo hard to incorporate previous hero in a new game where you are playing a new hero .

No, they don't need to show off. But I don't want them helpless either.

Plus, the Warden is more competent than most Wardens. Of course the Warden won't get the spotlight of the main story, but if he's involved in a sidequest the Warden shouldn't be belittled. They should be able to handle themselves in whatever role they're playing, even if they desire assistance. They should be able to put in a good word with the people they knew, and maybe help us with a few things when they aren't too busy doing their own thing.

The Warden might be with Alistair, Morrigan, or whoever, and might just end up working with those characters for the most part and serving their goals.

If the Warden went with Morrigan and had a child with her, he should probably be mentioned to have done so. He should also probably defend either Morrigan or the Old God Child if either is attacked, and generally be involved in raising/training the boy.

There are a variety of roles they could play, though obviously I'm more inclined to imagine the roles my Warden might play.

You don't want the warden if she show up to be a helpless Lamb right ? I never seen a hero come back and get 'help' of any kind . You really can't . There is no physical interaction as such .

And like you , I don't want the warden to come to my Inquisitor rescue  :P

I believe we shall see Morrigan but I doubt the Old God child will be anywhere near . And I rather the warden doesn't go all Chevalier , if Morrigan is working for some Noble or whoever.....she is not a helpless Lamb either  ;)

Hard to say... part of me is very excited for my Warden to show up in DA:I, and the other part of me wonders what she will look like (due to modding), what she will act like, how they will get away with her not speaking, etc. I have my reservations, but I have faith that Bioware knows what they're doing.

How they could deal with the personality?Have the warden possessed by the big bad villain. Then the personality change can be explained.

My money is on you finding the Warden dead. Its been 10-12 years since the Joining by the start of Inquisition, David Gaider has said that you hear the callling anytime between 10-30 years, on the lower end if you have been a warden during a blight, spent a lot of time in tainted areas such as the deeproads and a lot of time fighting darkspawn. Shortened again if you are a bloodmage or have spent a lot of time around bloodmages. The Warden is pretty much the most tainted person in all of Thedas at this point, Darkspawn are less tainted than that guy.

It would be the easiest and best way to handle it imo. The Warden can't be a major player as he is dead in many playthroughs, people will get mad regardless of his personality and voice actor. Therefore the best way to deal with it is to have a quest from your DA:O characters friend/love interest to investigate what happened to you, the inquisitor goes down into the deeproads and finds the Wardens body surrounded by 10-20 thousand darkspawn and demons, sad moment between friend/LO and dead warden body, end scene.

I don't think the Warden will show up. Too many variables to deal with.

If they do, then I think they will mostly be judged on what they've done in Origins. Did they always try to do the good thing or not? Important decisions in the Keep might affect who they are and how people see them.

If the Warden does show up, I'd assume that it will be a very short cameo and the Warden's interactions will be defined by the choices made in the Keep. The situation the Warden shows up in will probably affect the interactions as well; if it's a cameo in the middle of a pitched battle, any Warden might act in a brusque, commanding manner, while if it's a meeting in the Skyhold, there's more possibility for character-specific interactions.

Honestly, for my Warden, all I want is some interaction with Leliana. I kind of like Hibernating's idea as well.

I don't see any call to be rude to people over wanting their preferred version of the Warden in the game. If Bioware can just rewrite the character to fit some pre-described canon, why have the Keep? Why import saves from previous games? Just go with the canon that the Warden was a Dalish Elf who committed the Ultimate Sacrifice. No need to bring in my Warden and then **** all over her.

I'm pretty sure the warden will show up in DAI and have more than a cameo role considering that Gaider said if it was just a cameo then they would not even attempt to bring back either the warden or hawke and that it was important to do it right.

Since Hawke has already been confirmed and shown in a video i'm pretty sure that his statement back then still applies, even more so considering he has been very vocal in the past about the possibility of the warden showing up.

We do know that we will have control over their physical appearance and they have indicated as much previously awhile ago.

I'd assume we'll have some control over our personality in the keep or a cc but I wouldn't expect to much it likely will be based on our previous actions in the previous games, a checklist or an overall personality set.

I'm not to concerned with their personality considering some of the thing's they've previously said, also considering that it's going to be difficult to keep it consistent given the multiple variables including time, other world actions, that it's their character now and that they've prepared for the possible consequences of having them do or say things that wouldn't mesh well or things out of character according to us along with numerous other things.

To be honest, I don't particularly care if they show up or not and have accepted the fact that they might awhile back after reading a bunch of thing's they've said about them including saying that we should accept the possibility that they might show up and that there's a soild possibility of it happening according to Laidlaw a few months ago, so maybe some people should start to accept it,

Besides it's far to late in the game for that, whatever happens with them has been decided for awhile now and all we can do is wait and see what happens with them and experience it first hand before we make judgments on it.

The Warden was a very.......... important character in DAO and Awakenings. What if in the beginning of Inquisition, your Warden is the King Consort (married to Anora), or he left Thedas via the Eluvian with Morrigan and has been with both Morrigan and the Old God Baby ever since. At the very least..............................there has to be some mention of him and what he is presently up to, or even a cameo, if not having him show up with Anora (King of Prince /consort) or Morrigan at some point. They are including a lot of seemingly non-essential (previous) npc's to Inquisition, you might think they would  have the brains to add a rich character the likes of "The Warden" as well. The Warden is just as important to the entire DA story as Morrigan or Flemeth. From what I understand, either in "The Keep" or in the game we are supposed to have control of both "The Wardens" and Hawke's physical appearance. If they were NOT including "The Warden" why would they even bother to do that?

I think the comments suggesting Keep options or making the Warden playable are the way to go. Just doesn't work otherwise.
