Can you turn someone tranquil and then make them your court jester?
Can't be worst than Bann Teagan... wait... actually, forget I said anything.

I love what has been revealed so far about skyhold and the judgments, sounds very interesting!
I am a 100% against Tranquility, Despite being Pro-Templar! So if a mage has done something truly horrid to where they cant be trusted even if given a second chance, then they will just get the axe. After reading asunder, Tranquility is a fate worse then death and isn't 100% reliable anyway.
This info just keeps getting better and better!
Thanks for posting the final part.
Or more left?
What I'm curious is if it's possible to be seen as too soft, letting too many people go and whether that will trigger any interesting developments later. This concerns me since my first runs tend to be very goody goody and reflect my own moral compass since I have to roleplay or psych myself up to make the nasty/ass choices. I know there are some people who have trouble picking the nasty choices and I want to see this back fire.
I'm pro-mage, but I'm kinda looking forward to making someone tranquil. I hope we actually see the process and it isn't just "You're going to be made tranquil," then a fade to black and there's a tranquil mage helping me with Skyhold's inventory.

So it's "I've decided to make you tranquil.FOR SCIENCE!"?
I wonder how many there will be, like will it be kinda radiant where they never run out with generics, or is there a finite amount.
Hopefully its better then S4's judgement thing, that was cool for novelty/humor, but it didn't have an affect. Sounds like this one will which is good, I loved the little bit we got to do in Awakening, made it feel like we really were running a hold

yeah, me, too.
although I don't care how reliable it is, rather...I just..no. No, to making someone tranquil. If need be, I'll execute them.
love the idea of court jester, but idk if i would trust them...

Pretty much.
Wooow. You can decide if someone gets turned Tranquil or not? That's hardcore. I already feel guilty.

I sure hope we will see somethng like this. I'd hate to see good choices leading only to good outcomes. If you let someone truly nasty live it should backfire and not somehow lead to the nasty NPC rescuing orphans or something.
Especially the court jester thing sounds like a bad decision to me, not so fun waking up and finding your court jester with access to the Skyhold at your throat and mad about being humiliated ![]()
We had a taste of this in Awakening, I didn't like it then and I doubt this will be any different.
I loved this in Awakening. I played Fable III afterwards and remember thinking "You've just taken a tiny sub-feature from DA:A, made it worse, and then advertised it as the main highlight of your game."
If this is even better than it was in Awakening then I'm definitely on board.
So what if you had a situation where there was a mage whose crimes warranted a death sentence but who asked to be made Tranquil because he didn't want to die?
Personally, I have no problem with making someone Tranquil if that was the justice they deserved.
I'm going to enjoy the judgements and probably go a bit power mad. It'll be interesting to see how our companions react to them.

care to ellaborate? just dropping negativity in this thread where everyone's enthusiastic about the judgement calls and not even explaining it is silly
it wasn't done perfectly in Awakening sure but in DA:I it seems they made it much better and more detailed
I liked it already in DA:A but I will love it in DA:I Its also a perfect oportunity to roleplay our Inquisitor
what kind of man/woman is he? how far will he go? etc.
All my enemies will be Jesters and preform tricks of magic to my subjects!

The problem is that sometimes it is not about the mage doing something wrong. If I remember right some mages even ask for it so... other are force on it because the first enchanter feels they cannot pass the Harrowing. What are you going to do with mages that do not fall on the criminal spectrum but can be a danger? I really do not think there is a right answer.
Personally I would only kill the mage if they committed a crime and not before but an abominations can do a lot of damage and kill a lot of innocence people. I see tranquility as a tool to prevent something but in the process it is a punishment for no crime committed.
I can at least make a convicted mage useful if I make him tranquil instead of executing him. Then, once he's served his time, I can just make him untranquil again now that there's a method for that and see if he's rehabilitiated.
YAY! that look awesome ! Gonna make Templar Tranquil
Cose the maker said so !
This sounds amazing, I've always loved this sort of thing...I can't wait to play judge over some people.
I'm not sure if I'll have the heart to turn anybody tranquil though, that has always seemed so horrible to me, I'll probably sooner execute them. I suppose it could be interesting for a crazy pro templar playthrough though.
I believe we may all at some point execute someone as a judgement. Is anyone else imagining their Inquisitor sitting on the throne and saying at some point:
"Off with his (her) head!"
Sorry, it got stuck in my head and I had to share that. ![]()
Imagine if they actually put that line in as a dialogue option. That would be hilarious.

Well, with DAI's Character Creator...

... we just might be able to pull it off. ![]()
