Going full Joffery will probably result in a (well deserved) non-standard game over. So never go full Joffery.
I believe the other options are supposed to be pressganging them or letting them off scot-free. The latter I think is dangerous with anyone who isn't way too scared to ever lift a blade to one of the people under my protection again (which is complicated by the fact that ruling through fear doesn't work all that well), and the former presents some potential problems too. That said, I agree with you that execution is a distasteful method of dealing with enemies. (Tranquility is an option, I suppose, for anyone who is too dangerous to recruit.) As for the Dontos Hollard option, how many fools do I really need? (I think flogging might also be an option, but my objection to that? To the best of my knowledge, it just doesn't work.)
That might be all we get though, there doesn't seem to be a prison and i wouldn't just let someone who committed a heinous crime walk free.
I would like some form of restorative justice. And if I can't have that, then perhaps imprisonment, exile, or fighting for the inquisition..
Hey all
Thoughts i'd share my video expressing my thoughts on the Judgement from the skyhold part 3
Other sentences may affect side quests, operations, Skyhold itself, and even your closest companions, so choose wisely.
Sounds like Alistair leaving because I decided to put Loghain to use. If we have such squad members with us this time around, they will again be disappointed as I choose what's best for all. I'm a utilitarian.
Can we make our enemies Tranquil, then restore them só they know what it feels like and then make them Tranquil again?
Just introduce them to Cole. It worked for Karl and Anders, and the same principle should apply. You could even do it repeatedly, just to check up on how they're feeling from time to time.

It might be that Cole leaves (or tries to kill you) for imprisoning instead of executing. Putting certain people to use probably won't bug him as much.
I wonder if we get to be unbelievably cruel to whoever we make the jester?

I'm sure within reason. I'm not expecting any "curb stomping kittens" options like we had in Jade Empire or some of the older BioWare titles that were more black and white. I doubt we'll be able to be blatantly evil, but I'm sure we can be rather oppressive and authoritarian in how we wield the Inquisition.

Cole will count himself fortunate if I even recruit him after his antics from Asunder.

Everyone needs an assassin, don't they?

Yes, but from all I understand about the things Cole gets up to in Asunder, he's better at it.

boo to your metagaming
...When your inquisitor meets Cole, he/she will probably have no idea what/who he is and what he's done or what he is capable of.
This is one of the features I'm most interested in. I wonder if we get to ask our advisors opinion before judging or if they just read the charges and give information. Maybe depending on who we are about to judge one of the advisors would point out "(s)he could actually be useful working for us in my department" or if we have to figure that out ourselves. Both would be fine with me. When is the release again? ..... Damn, it's been a while since I've been this excited about an upcoming game. ![]()
I wonder what this mage is going to have done to specifically be the mage we can make Tranquil.
I mean - if we can only Tranquilize one mage - there's gotta be a pretty specific reason for it I wager.

Well, as I pointed out previously, the wording of the interview seems to suggest you get this option more than once. That said, I believe that we get Adrian from Asunder dragged before us for judgement, and that I specifically heard Tranquility floated as an option for her.
I intend on being rather creative in my punishments.
"Inquisitor, this man stole a pie from the royal pie cooling window!"
"Please sir, my name is Ollie, an orphaned elf!"
"Take this foolish thief, make a giant blueberry pie, insert the thief into the pie and then bake it for an hour in the royal oven!"
"Inquisitor, we defeated this band of Qunari rebels and we have the leader here, he as agreed to work with us if we spare him."
"I will serve a new master! The Qun is no longer the path of this one!"
"Put him on the walls of the castle and make him recite Shakespeare plays for 18 hours at a time, he can probably bore the enemy to death if they come too close."

Shakespeare isn't boring. (Well, okay, King Lear kinda is...)

Jester? Where's Teagan when you need him.
If I have the power of Judge Jury and executioner then I might as well do it Mega City 1 style My first Inquisitor will be a gruff uncompromising male human warrior called Joseph who NEVER takes of his helmet (screw you stallone for messing up one of the best British comic characters since Dennis The Menace) and my second playthrough a female blonde wise cracking mage called Cassandra.
I should later make a Qunari mage called Nemesis just for the hell of it
Now all Pro-Templars will have their fetish fufilled.
Good to see that we can recruit "evil" agents into our Inquisition crossing my fingers for the Venatorii I need my slave gladiators and Tevinter mages.
