Name: Rhys Ar Eirlys O Greenhold
Height: 6 foot 3 inches
Weight: 176 pounds
Hair: Very light blond
Eyes: Light gray, almost silver
Age: 25
People see Rhys as a joker; he exudes an aura of youthful insoucience and doesn't seem to take many things seriously at all. He's got the self-confidence of youth and feels secure in his skillsets. He's aware that he is somewhat handsome and that it can make things easier for him if he wishes to use it to his advantage but he rarely does. He enjoys anything that allows him to polish his skills and he's good with a longbow and fair with a quarterstaff.
Rhys is fairly tall and leanly muscled. He wears his light blond hair pulled back in braids on each side of his face, leaving the top to flow back to a short ponytail at the top of his head; the bottom he leaves loose to brush his shoulders. The one piece of clothing that seems to be an affectation is his fur-lined boots which he wears laced to the knees. If asked, he will tell you he has cold feet but it's always said with a sideways grin that makes it clear it's just a line. He carries a fairly bulging backpack filled with cold-weather clothing and other provisions, a lantern tied to the bottom along with a set of spikes and quite a bit of rope. It gives him the appearance of a tinker. He has a longbow slung across his chest and uses his quarterstaff like a walking stick.
If you find Rhys at the campfire he will usually be whittling. He tends to whistle softly while he's engaged in the task.
Rhys is an Avvar hillsman from Greenhold. His mother made much of him, always fussing and cosseting him, and he grew annoyed with this treatment as he aged. He became a hunter at a young age, learning to shoot the Avvar longbow as soon as he was strong enough to knock an arrow. He spent most of his time hunting alone, choosing solace to the boisterous hunting groups. At the age of 17 he kidnapped the woman who would be his wife, proving his worth by stealing into her clanhold in the dead of night and spiriting her away to his own. It is said that she went willingly once he spoke to her for his silver tongue knew no equal. Whether it is true or not, they were married three years and parted amiably with no children to show for their time together. Afterwards, Rhys made his way to the lowlands and found work in a mercenary band. He enjoyed the life and the silver it brought to his pockets but he's currently not with a company since he fulfilled his contract and chose to travel alone for a time.
