I cant decide if i want to play on normal difficulty or nightmare to begin with... I love the challenge on nightmare in the previous games, but i also want to progress at a decent rate without dying to much.
Bioware says you won't be treated like an idiot that needs a new hobby.

I'll probably start on nightmare and if its to frustrating than I'll slowly move the bar down till I feel like I am getting good progress..

I'll be doing a 'tutorial run' on easy to get a feel for the mechanics. Then I'll get back to normal or higher.
I wonder if there will be an achievement for beating the game on hard/nightmare?

I hope so, really like those achievements ^^; I also hope there are some really silly achievments that arn't obvious and a sort of joke when you figure them out.
Also for somereason I want the romance achievments to be the twitter hashtags the fans have come up with like #stormingthecastle XD would be hallarious and probably make me shoot cola out of my nose ![]()

We can only hope. Although maybe there are no achievements for romances this time around. I know there was a leaked list and people seem to think it is genuine, but you never know. I kinda hope there are romance achievements with an extra one for getting all the romances. With a silly title like 'underpants gnome' or something like that ![]()

I think there were achievements in the leaked list for playing the entire game on hard and playing the entire game on nightmare, but that's not going to worry me. I actually hope there are, so the folks who enjoy that sort of thing can have a little prize for being so awesome. Having bragging rights is a great thing, but not the only thing (I hope.) DA2 did have an achievement for toggling day into night as well, iirc.

So the implication here is that tactical view is for folks who suck and can't cut it in real time.
Delightful. (Sarcasm)
That IS what tactical view is... Not that you suck, but more that you can't keep the overview without pausing. That IS at the very core what the tactical view is.

I'll do a nightmare playthrough once the community figures out what the most broken, overpowered character build is. :S

In other words you will utterly destroy the difficulty of the game, then you will raise said difficulty to make you feel better about 'cheating', right? ![]()

Yeah, and then if it gets too difficult I'll lower it right back down to where I was before. That's me. :S

Breaking the game is half the fun for me. It's just one more mystery to be exploi... explored! Yes! That's what I meant!

I'm, going to pick the character I want, the skills I like and adjust the difficulty to make the game challenging but fun, because gameplay + roleplay over epeen for me every time. That normally sits on 'Hard' for me because I usually like the added complication of potential friendly fire.
Nightmare just seems too much like rubbing a cheese grater over my face.

I do tend to increase the difficulty setting to make up for knowing what's coming up. I guess that's cheating, but I can't make up for a certain amount of metagaming. I know that revenant's there and what spells/attacks work best. Without prior knowledge of what's coming up, I'll stick to normal for a while and see how it works. If you're worried about combat being too easy, try holding the controller upside down. There are a lot of ways to handicap yourself without disparaging what others find fun or challenging.
