Now that the BSN has had time to digest the new info from Last Flight, I thought it was time to have a thread dedicated to our Grey Wardens. Also, a place to discuss what they heck they are all up to by 9:41 Dragon. It's been more than 10 in-game years since we had an inside look into the Wardens and their sneaky deeds of sneakiness. What have they been up to since the Warden killed or spared the Architect? Why are Wardens seemingly dropping off the map with no indication of their whereabouts? And Larius/Janeka/Corypheus....what's his/her/its angle?

 

Feel free to post about anything Wardeny that you are interested/excited to see in DA:I. Blackwall included. We can share him with his fan thread, I think. But this thread is for any Warden, past or present. Not a fan thread for any one in particular.

Well, in regards to Corypheus, if he is indeed manipulating the Wardens, then he has potentially had nearly a decade to infiltrate and control them.

The question that's bugging me the most is the Not-Hero-of-Ferelden standing next to Hawke and the Inquisitor in the Enemy of Thedas trailer:

 

 

He's gotta be somebody important. I still think he's a placeholder for the Hero of Ferelden if they died, since in Bioware's 'Canon' the Warden made the ultimate sacrifice.

 

The character I'm most interested to see is Warden Alistair. What's that guy up to, since he's not dead, a drunk, or King of Ferelden? Certainly not out having adventures with Varric and Isabela. I hope.

I certainly hope not.  That looks nothing like Alistair.  I'm more inclined to go with the Hero of Ferelden "placeholder" idea.

I'd love to see all of the Warden characters we know get assembled at one point. Just imagine, the HoF, Alistair, Carver/Bethany, all of our Awakening Wardens(Excluding Justice, of course), Stroud, Avernus. I'd also like to see Larius/Janeka again, but I'm pretty sure they are crucial to the whole deal with Corypheus, so I doubt they are friendly to the Inquisition.

 

I admit, staying in the mind of my Inquisitor would be tough if all of those characters reassembled at some big Warden meeting. Oh, the Nostalgia-meter would be going up.

 

Inquisitor: Sigrun! Nathaniel! Ohgren! Alistair! Even Velanna! You're all here! It's so wonderful to see you again!

Carver: Do we....know you?

Inquisitor: Sorry, not talking to you until you leave the Templars.

I wonder if the stuff Nathaniel was up to in Act 3 had anything to do with what the Wardens are up to in DAI.  There's an implication that the red lyrium from Hawke's deep roads adventures is what they were going for.  Do you think it's the wardens' retirement plan, or that there's something dire that can be done with red lyrium that wouldn't be possible with blue, like the joining involving a degree of blood magic.

Anyway, I'm curious about the role they will play in Inquisition. In one of the trailers we saw the Inquisition attacking them, but do you think it will be possible to have them join us? Some of them at least? That would be cool. Come to think of it, I wonder if the Darkspawn will show up as enemies again.

Yeah , count me in for that too . They did say that wasn't your warden next to Hawk . And really , could be alistair with new face cose of Engine . And even if he is king....he is still a warden . So maybe our warden gone somewhere and Alistair took over the warden stronghold...hence why he is wearing the armor of warden .

According to the leaked Acheivment list, corypheus is a boss that the player has to defeat.

 

I think that corypheus might  posses the HOF or OW body.  It would be a way out of explaining why the warden does not look the same.

If Corypheus did possess the Hero of Ferelden, I wonder how Alistair/Morrigan/Leliana would react if they found out? Megaton punch to the feels if they had to put down their beloved.

I never made a Warden. Not once. And I've beaten the game several times.

 

Granted, Duncan keeps turning all my characters into Wardens...
