It probably also has to do with most grey warden mages having passed their harrowing
It can certainly have an effect though if you remember Avernus, he said the Taint was utterly alien to demons and they seem to despise it.

If your theory is correct, then it's too bad the Joining kills more than it manages to taint. Otherwise that might be a good way to prevent abominations... I doubt they could come up with a safer type of Joining since they haven't been able to figure that out in about a thousand years...

Wasn't Anders technically a Grey Warden abomination? It's possible that Justice was corrupted into Vengeance partially because of the taint, but it certainly didn't stop him from being possessed or becoming an abomination down the line.

Possibly, but why would they work with wardens who use blood magic if they have the taint? With your logic I would think if a warden tried to summon demons with blood magic they wouldn't appear because they fear the taint. But we know they do because of avernus
cause the blood magic just powers the spell, the actual blood doesn't touch the demon while being summoned. and i believe the spell also forcibly brings the demon into the mortal world, they enjoy cause they want to be in the mortal world.

Is it true? I think it makes sense because there has been no record of a grey warden abomination and grey warden mages are the only mages are really free. I think this topic should be explored more in DA:I.
While Sophia Dryden wasn't a mage, she was possessed by a demon. Her body was certainly tainted enough to make that clear. In the newest novel The Last Flight, there are also Grey Warden abominations. I think the lack of major grey wardens we see in game are the reason we don't see Grey Warden abominations.
Oh! Completely forgot about Anders. There you go, clearly they are not immune.

Anders is not a "normal" abomination. We cannot kill Justice and free Anders like the rest of abomination because Justice is not in the fade, he is sharing body and soul with Anders. Its a very unique merger that has never happened before. Anders and Justice are truly one. So we really cannot use Anders in this scenario. Besides Justice is the sort of spirit that puts his name before everything else and will do anything to uphold his name. So even if he hates the taint if merging Anders would help him bring Justice he would do it. Demons are usually much more selfish.Wasn't Anders technically a Grey Warden abomination? It's possible that Justice was corrupted into Vengeance partially because of the taint, but it certainly didn't stop him from being possessed or becoming an abomination down the line.

How could we have forgotten that? Maybe the OP is specifically referring to demons actively seeking out tainted mages, not willing hosts who seek to become bonded with Fade creatures?
There certainly doesn't seem to be any record of darkspawn abominations, either.
Darkspawn don't enter the Fade in dreams the way humans and elves do... and presumably qunari, but they deny it... anyway, emissaries aren't true mages and draw power from the Taint, not the Fade.

True, but we have trees and corpses being possessed by demons. I doubt they enter the Fade either.

Well, there is no denying that demons cannot comprehend the Taint, at least if we are willing to trust Avernus... and since Darkspawn are beings born from the Taint, perhaps demons find them repulsive. Perhaps the fact that they are fully tainted is what shields them but not Grey Wardens. Remember that Grey Wardens are merely tainted humans, elves, and dwarves who are very slowly turning into Ghouls. Darkspawn are their own species, so there could be any number of magical factors that are coming into play... they share thoughts and are guided by the Archdemons, so perhaps their minds are not suited to possession? Trees and corpses don't have minds in the first place, so there is nothing to stop spirits from possessing them... but these are never their first choices, and they are usually the result of spirits entering the mortal realm where the Veil is thin. They never possess trees directly from the Fade.

And yet we see that Isseya's Taint was accelerated due to blood magic usage. That, in my opinion, suggests some sort of relationship between the two.

Well, I did say, "at least, if we are willing to trust Avernus." With the amount of changes the lore undergoes, I'm not committing to anything right now, especially on a topic where we have few details to begin with.
But regardless of that, what do demons have to do with blood magic having an effect on the Taint? And wasn't Avernus a blood mage? Why didn't he experience any acceleration? Did it have something to do with all of those Grey Wardens he sacrificed and experimented on?
And finally, "yay." First Hawke is doomed to becoming lyrium addled because of an offscreen retcon about Templars, and now the Warden will die even faster because he used blood magic?
Who the heck is "Isseya" anyway?

Hmmmmm, perhaps while the two can have a symbiotic relationship, the true danger lie in that the two can have unforeseen consequences when mixed and that is what truly frightens the demons.

lol, don't sweat it. I haven't really been avoiding spoilers from the books and I often seek them out to find out what, um... newly discovered lore... they contain.
