A question about the Keep - what if I didn't play Origins via Origin?

If I understand the Keep correctly, I'll only be able to customise the story based on what Origin finds on my account, right?

But what if I didn't play Origins on Origin? I played the CD rom version (Not from Origin). Will I then need to buy a copy on Origin and start Dragon Age:Origins all over again in order to be able to customise the story in the Keep?

I know how you feel. I played on Xbox and I don't know if I'll be able to import those saves. We'll have to wait until the Keep is public and capable of uploading imports to find out.

Short answer: no

You could never have played any of the DA games and still be able to customize a world state that you will later be able to import into Inquisition.

I see ... Won't that mean that I'm gating myself from some content? I mean, it's not like I'll be able to select the outcome of events that I didn't do ... like Awakening and Witch Hunt ... right?

You need your characters in social bioware. Your account needs to be same in keep and there. To get your characters to social bioware you need to log in the games with same account. There is tutorials of getting your characters in social bw, it can be tricky.

Wrong. Just be patient. The Keep will be released soon (they said sometime in October) and all your questions will be answered. :)

The Keep doesn't limit you based on what it finds on your Origin account. You will be able to customize the DAO and DA2 save decisions as much as a person that has played all of them and has them connected on Origin would. That includes DLC and everything. Don't worry about it, they have talked about this on twitter and videos so it's official. The only thing the Keep imports based on what it finds on Origin is the name of your characters and their avatar (which will not be imported in DAI). You'll still have to do all other decisions from scratch.

The Keep has a few pre-made world states that you can select and edit to your liking, iirc.

this is a video from Pax prime where the keep was unveiled. its all official and stuff.

this kinda give you an idea what keep will be like.

And you don't need to play any of the DA games to use it.

Alright. Thanks for the help. I was a bit bummed at the thought of having to do Origins all over again.

There is already a large and active thread on this topic so I am locking this down.
