When has using blood magic ever sounded like something you would want to do anyway?

You can't use it as a player but I doubt it's gone from the game all together. Enemy mages have always used it to crazy powerful effect ( as it should be), I hope they continue to.

No, because the player is going to work for divine and templars as a chantry puppet. All your companions are either chantry zealots or their henchmen. Enjoy.

How can you say that the Inquisition is working for the Templars if we have the option to oppose them in the mage vs. Templar conflict?

Agreed.  I'm glad to know more players are looking forward to working with the chantry.

Don't kid yourself. The setting is so obvious that it's funny.

You're being paranoid.  Bioware wouldn't tell us that we can choose to side with either group if siding with the mages resulted in a game over due to Cullen immediately putting his sword through the PC's chest.

Sounds exactly like something I would do.  ^_^

Now waiting for a game in which being a blood mage will be possible, and will be given perception and consequence justice.

Terrorising the peasants, controlling the minds of the powerful and sacrificing the weak in blood rituals is something I would like.

Blood Magic is out because letting you be a blood mage should come with consequences. Blood Magic corrupts the wielder. People are terrified of it, to an extreme degree. It should cause all kinds of problems for a person trying to lead an organization made up primarily of Andrastians to practice blood magic. All that would take up lots of development time. For one specialization.

Well, the Templars left the Chantry, and the Divine is most likely dead, so your little scenario isn't happening.

I think what he means by Chantry puppet is "we can't play a Mage supremacist who destroys the Chantry and Templars and mind controls the primarily Andrastian cast into helping us form a new Tevinter Imperium."

That's exactly what he means.

I have never, ever seen him make a positive statement. Not once.

Sociopaths make up about 4% of the population. Not really enough to bankroll a game.

I think the main reason they didn't include Blood Mage this go-around was because of the gulf between how it's portrayed in gameplay and how it's portrayed in the story.

if it ever comes back DG said it would have to be its own class since it dominates the narrative. Imoi think BM is what causes fans to rank on mage supporters

Yeah, it would require so much story content to properly portray being  a Blood Mage, that the Player Character who have to be restricted to just that class in order to justify the expense.

That being said, I could see some interesting story potential where, for whatever reason, you start the game as a Blood Mage and have to roleplay it from there.
