So I just finished the Deeproads quest and am back in town and I'm getting super nervous over this whole Varric talking to some evil Templar chic about Hawke!! I like Varric and it's making me guess if he is to be trusted...
I love this game, so addicted and the story has me on edge lol! How do you know what act you're in though?
The 'acts' of the game are divided by the big time skips - announced by Varric to 'the evil Templar chick' (Cassandra, she's called).
There's the prologue when the Hawke family are coming to Kirkwall - then it skips ahead a year and Act 1 begins. If you've just returned from the Deep Roads, then there would have been a three year time jump and you'll be starting Act 2 now.
There is a quest in act 3 to find a certain elf mage. I suggest you heed his advice once you find him. This will make sense once you hear why he is being hunted.
