 Hey!

Does anyone else who preordered from Gamestop notice that the Collectors Edition is now selling for $59.99?

I thought it was for 79.99 For Xbox 360 Version :o

You're probably looking at the PC version.

Either way, if the price drops by the time you make your order and release, you'll be billed for the lower price. Just like what it says on their site.

Because it is digital - less manufacturing cost = lower price.

Console manufacturers charge a fee on titles sold on their systems.

Actually the reason why pc titles are almost always cheaper(if we're talking about retail box copies) and get price cuts more often is to bolster sales on the platform. 60 bucks is pretty much a standard price for console titles because that's what they can get away with selling it for and still manage high volume sales.

The pc market doesnt do as well, so they usually sell games for 10-20 less to help push copies.

As for the digital download collectors edition being so cheap, it's manufacturing and distribution costs. No tin case, extra discs, art booklet, etc. to produce and ship. It's all digital so those copies cost nothing to make beyond creating the initial content package.
