People are wondering How Mass Effect can go on, & also how they can do Mass Effect without Shepard.

Easy 1 Word = REBOOT, Similar towards movies these days being Star Trek, Robocop, Vacation, to others such as those like Godzilla.

Mass Effect will be done in a similar fashion, See the Shepard Trilogy both Began & Finished leaving it Impossible to go FOWARD with a Sequel.

See The Reapers are GONE, Shepard is Gone, The Galaxy is on the Verge of Collapse, The Mass Relays are almost ALL DESTROYED.

So basically there is No LOOSE ENDS, So you could not go FORWARD, also Being an Origin Deal such as Specific Stories from many Historical Moments would also be IMPPOSIBLE TO DO.

Mainly you could just pick 1 Historical Moment in Mass Effect They are MANY, 1st Contact War, Genophage Crisis, Quarian-Geth Morning War so on & so forth.

So the only way we can proceed is REBOOT, Hence the reason Not to call Mass Effect ME 4 they say that cause the game is going to be REBOOT.

This is also a way to be FREST, yet STILL MASS EFFECT, Just will not have or Feature Shepard or Use Shepard or any Normandy Crew or heck may not even have the Normandy in the game.

But hey then again we didn't expect to see the MAKO back yet THERE IT IS. Based on what I know the MAKO is DIFFRENT cause they Upgraded it, Probably Improved Canons, Retro Boosters, & Aiming System.

I Know many will disagree with me, but my Friends agree with me also, they also Believe it will be REBOOT not a Prequel, & also not a SEQUEL.

No Shepard, No Reapers, No anything to Shepard, YET it feels like MASS EFFECT.

Updated Galaxy Map, Improved MAKO, Improved Planetary Exploration.

Futuristic LOOKS, Sexy Sleek N7 ARMOR being reminiscing of Halo 5.

Also I hope this Mass Effect we learn more on WHAT N7 IS WHAT IT TAKE TO BE N7.

Go home OP, you're drunk.

Edit: May have been a little harsh, but you're not making much sense. This post also looks suspiciously like one I read the other day on Gamefaqs, complete with the ANNOYING caps to EMPHASISE important words. That thread got dismissed pretty quickly, as this one will probably be.

Rebooting a universe that was only created about 7 years ago is a ridiculous idea, particularly when they have still been fleshing out that universe in other media right up until this year.

Or, ya know, make a sequel set 5000 years later, that way no one remembers or gives a crap about Shepard. They can reverse engineer the relays. Hell, they probably already did that before First Contact.

Reboots are terrible.

Actually, I wouldn't mind if Bioware decided to revisit the dark matter storyline.

Using dark matter as a plot conflict? Sure.

Revisiting Drew K.'s intentions with it? No, thanks.

If you read the 'dark matter' plot ending, it basically is a thinly disguised polemic on 'how do we stop using fossil fuels?'

It's just as terrible a story as the 'drive Warp 5.5' episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation. Which was a thinly disguised '55 is the speed limit' polemic.

I *despise* this kind of idiocy in epic stories. Yes, the environment is important. No, putting it as the climax of a full epic trilogy of games will not actually do anything except make people hate it.

I'm actually watching Godzilla as we speak and I'm thoroughly impressed, I see your point now OP if done properly a reboot can in fact build a superior product. Perhaps in a way a sequel without Shepard is the same thing as a reboot in some ways, with the added benefit of not trashing the original trilogy.

Why does it have to be a reboot? That would just render the original trilogy pointless. Much more likely, IMO, is that ME:next will be a spin-off. It'll reference the original trilogy and you're decisions vaguely, but it also won't influence or be influences by Shepard's trilogy. It won't be a prequel because the 'biog decisions' aspect would work due to the lore already being established, it won't be a direct sequel because basically everything the devs have said about ME;N has discounted this. So I think it'll either be a spin-off set at the same time as Shepard's trilogy but in another galaxy, or a sort of sequel set thousands of years in the future.

I'd really like a sequel based on my Shepard trilogy choices as I'd love to see a Rannoch hub world with the Quarians and Geth (my 2 favourite races) co-operating, but sadly, I doubt it'll happen.

C'mon the idea of "big crunch" is an awesome idea. Why don't you like it?

Because it's a thinly disguised "How do we wean ourselves away from fossil fuels for the benefit of the environment?" message.

It's crap.

Except when they are infinitely better than the original.
