For example Dwarves/Qunari don't dream, maybe because they live/born outside of the affected area (Fade/dimension)?

What about the connection between magic and the Fade? Qunari can cast spells, but dwarves can't... it's been said that magic comes from either the Fade in the case of humans and elves, or the Taint in the case of darkspawn. Little is known about the qunari, however... they can cast spells, but if they don't enter the Fade, how is that possible and how do saarebas attract demons?
I don't have any answers btw, I'm just tossing out ideas and things to consider... your theory is interesting but I wouldn't know where to begin to prove or disprove it. Too many unanswered questions in the lore for me to speculate.

Do we know that Saarebas don't enter the Fade? Qunari claim they don't dream but perhaps rare individuals (Saarebas) do.

I have my doubts that this is even true, but apparently Qunari are not seen in the Fade often, if ever... so I don't know.

That's interesting. How do you meet someone in the Fade anyway? Does everybody get jumbled up together when they fall asleep? Or is it only mages who can meet people?

Well, according to Nial in DA:O, people who dream take on different forms... different animals, for example. But I read somewhere (I think it was the wiki) that qunari are "rarely encountered" in the Fade... this was said to back up the claim that they don't dream, but tbh I don't buy that. If they don't enter the Fade when they dream, then saarebas are totally unnecessary, unless demons can somehow possess them while they are conscious...
The entire idea sounds fishy the more I think about it... I mean, how would a mage know that the talking octopus they meet in a dream is a human dreamer and not a qunari dreamer?

Isn't that a possibility though? Like when mages feel desperate enough they make deals with demons to survive and turn into abominations? Like in DA2 when that mage is cornered by the Templars and she freaks out and turns into an abomination. Regardless it seems implausible that Saarebas don't dream. I can imagine Qunari don't dream since their's no reason why they should but Saarebas are magical. Unless they get it from another power source like the Darkspawn...

Dreamers are a rare thing though and they then to die often when they encounter demons for the first time, not to mention Qunari (the ones under the Qun) have pretty strict view when it comes to mages in their race.

DA2 was a bit sloppy with regard to lore, though... I mean, there were many times when abominations were summoned out of the ground... :/

Sorry, by "dreamer," I meant "a sleeping mortal," not a somniari.

A gameplay isn't the same as lore as the Devs have had to point out when they went overboard with DA2 combat.

True they claim not to dream, but some must do as they are seen in the fade. We don't see many Qunari mages after all.

well you can take sten with you into the fade in origins... so there is a precedent, and the fact that qunari can be mages, seems likely they can enter the fade. i don't recall them saying they don't dream, but i can't say i heard them say that they do either.

This is the quote from the Qunari page on the wiki.... "The Qunari claim that they do not dream as humans and elves do. This claim seems to be valid as they are rarely encountered in the Fade." The citation says it comes from World of Thedas, page 143... I dunno. It sounds weird to me. How can this even be possible if the qunari can wield magic? How would a mage know if the dreaming individual they were observing was a qunari? I imagine that it's possible that the qunari have developed some kind of safguard to prevent saarebas from going into the Fade for too long... maybe they have them on a rigid sleep schedule of 5 minutes at a time or something? A non-mage in the Fade would be almost indistinguishable from the landscape unless a mage was looking for sentient beings, and even then... how would they be able to tell the being's race if they have taken on a different form?
I think the qunari are lying.

I'm sure you can also take Oghren. I'm pretty sure that since they were forced into the Fade it circumvents the rules.
