I honestly don't mind the wait. After the pain that was being a JRPG fan during the sixth generation I'm kinda used to waiting a bit longer for my joy. I'm still gonna lurk here, spoilers or not, my willpower sucks.

 

Not to jinx myself but when I order games for release day from Amazon they tend to arrive a day or two before actual release day. I seem to remember ME3 arriving on the Wednesday so I'm hoping for the same here.

 

Same here, I specifically remember getting Skyward Sword a day before it's actual release date. I screamed in the poor postman's face when I opened it and realised what it was.

My worst ever spoiler was Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. I'd ordered the book from Asda (a supermarket chain in the UK). I avoided all site about the book about a week before the book was released. I was walking into Asda to pick up my copy when I saw a headline on the front page of The Sun in their newspaper section with the Glaring headline "Dumbledore Dies."

I went up to the woman behind the counter and asked if she thought that was funny? Told her to keep my copy of thebook and went to buy it down the road.

Seems like an overreaction

It was staring me in the face when I went up to the counter to buy the book. And no I don't think it was an over reaction. They didn't have to put the newspaper stand showing that headlines right where you had to go to get your copy of the book.

I think you guys are actually lucky to get the game on a Friday instead of a Tuesday like us, if I have a job by then I hope I can get that Tuesday off cause I plan to go to the midnight release if there is one.

If you play DAI on PC, I think there's a way to get the game for the NA release date via messing with the proxy. Don't ask me how. I just know it's a possibility if you're a computer geek who knows more stuff than I could explain.

It's actually very simple. I don't think 3 links with guides are necessary. Here's the short version for those who don't know how to do it:

 

Just download Cyberghost, pick a North American VPN server, and play the game. You may want to switch Origin to offline mode after that so you don't need to use a VPN every time you launch the game.

 

EA has stated before it allows user to cicumvent the release date check using a VPN.

What did you want them to do change the layout of their store so people wouldn't get spoiled. Coping an attitude with the clerk wasn't necessary in the slightest and she was just there doing her job. People who feel the need to take out their frustrations on store employees get no sympathy from me.

As far as I'm aware there are two release dates; one for North America and one for Europe.

EDIT: I was right, 18th the NA and 21st for EU.

 

In Sweden Release is actually stated as the 20th, which would be the normal day in Sweden. So i actually think there is a different between the european countries.

You don't know if that clerk put it there or not so there was no reason for you to say that to her. If you were really that upset you should've told the manager because they probably care more about your money than a cashier.

I guess anyone in NA who has EA Access will actually get access to the game - albeit limited - 5 days before the Release date, so around the 13th. Making the 'avoid internet' period even longer.

I'm already freaking out about it! THREE DAYS. One is bad enough, let alone three!

 

I'm going to have to avoid this forum for a start, as well as YouTube and Tumblr. If I don't, I know I'll get spoiled, accidentally or otherwise, and I want to start the game as blind as possible. I don't even want the menu screen spoiled for me!

 

How are you guys feeling about this and what do you plan on doing to remain relatively sane during this tough time?

 

It won't be so bad for me. I have to work on those days anyway. T.T

I'm thinking I might take the following monday off though... it's highly, highly tempting...

20th in Australia, which is basically the 19th in USA. So pretty much less than 2 day wait for us. I can live with that. Preload is on the 18th.

 

I like to imagine a world were a 3 day wait in the movie industry is considered a long wait, instead it's months
