Maybe the Video Game Industry should create it's own delivery company or some kind of thing ONLY for video games, instead of FedEx and UPS and companies like that, to REALLY make sure no one steals a ton of video game copies. I think it could benefit VGIndustry by not losing millions of dollars and can possibly stop piracy before game releases. Just a thought if anyone does want to bring it up to happen ;D

*Facepalms* Okay, look we don't need 20 threads on the subject that the game has been leaked/pirated. Yes it has happened, it happens 9 times out of 10 with pretty much every game ever made. Hell I was able to download Twinsen's Odyssey cause I lost the disc ages ago. The point is, it will happen, people please, please just get over it. Its Bioware and EA's problem not ours, and there are far more important things to worry about in the world than if a video game is being pirated. Fact of life. People steal. Fact of life, Everybody lies.

They don't have a stolen hard copy of the game. One person has it and then it spreads like wildfire throughout torrent sites, and you can't stop every single game from being copied.

actually if you read the nfo file, quite a few grps buys the games, then cracks it and releases it to their friends ( which then spreads across the internet )

never mind the fact that it doesn't prevent stores from breaking street date. if scientist invents teleportation then delivery can be made 24hrs before launch and it will solve the problem

Ok you guys didn't get what I said. I know about the 1 million threads about piracy and stuff, I'm just saying in GENERAL for all games, AND I know the games will be DL on stupid sites, I'm saying BEFORE the games are released, so people either don't get it for free, and/or get to put it up for DL on sites.

I used to work for ups worldport, which handles about 98% percent of the worlds packages

and it cost about 40 billion a year to run,so if EA for instance did this expect game prices to go up

by like 40 dollars.

There isn't a way you're going to stop this. Once its released, it will inevitably be put onto the internet to be pirated by others. I mean seriously, why waste the brain power on topics like this. People will steal anything they can possibly get away with, especially with the economy in such a horrible state. =\\

I doubt it because the would pretty much spend a little less money to ship them through someone

Are you trying to justify it?

as i said ppl are getting the games early because stores are breaking street date, you can't really solve that because you have to ( logically ) fly massive amount of game units around the world

you can't just snap your fingers and expect things will ship in XYZ time frame. being able to instantly teleport items from point A and point B will solve this because at most you'll be 24hrs early as opposed to 1 to 2 weeks ( most overseas mail from Aus takes 1 to 2 weeks to get here and vice versa )

Wow you guys are stupid, I didn't say it will stop piracy, I'm talking about ****ing stealing the games that are manufactured, costing alot of money, to stop that from happening, or dramatically reduce the chance of it happening, if the gaming industry forms a company that ships the games. So it stops games from being put up BRFORE RELEASE DATE, not stopping it from being DL from sites all together.

That's something the gaming industry need to get on top of gamestop and other retailer's asses to stop that crap

Am I trying to justify it? No, I'm saying why worry about it. It will inevitebly happen. Its part of the human condition. Besides what the OP fails to realize is these aren't STOLEN copies, they are sold early by retailers, the person works at Gamestop/EB Games/Walmart/etc and so they take it home, crack it and leak it. This happens once its at the retailer. Changing the shipping company isn't going to do a whole lot. There are much bigger issues to worry about in the world going on today than if people are pirating games. Seriously, not even in the god damn top ten.

Instead of costing the gaming industry millions in potential lost revenue, they would lose the millions by forming a guaranteed-to-fail delivery company. Brilliant!

i don't think its legally possible to sue <every> small and large shop breaking street date but I admit I have very little understanding of these mom & pop stores since there really isn't any ( that I know of ) in Australia

how about creating a multi-part installation system(don't start with me), that involves two or more installation locations to enable onboard content?

And before you reply with ...."well that'll never work just look at the DLC fiasco", given time and a bit of patience(on the beta testers part) this could actually be feasible.

On a similar topic, you would have part disc(not enablable) and part downloaded, without both you have nothing.

Funny you call others stupid...without thinking yourself.

Do you really think it would be cost productive to create this "shipping only for games" company instead of letting those stolen copies go?

Think about that.

A few hundred or so stolen copies VS. Starting up a company(per se) in order to ship ONLY games....

If I'm reading this right, I think the OP is trying to come up with a solution to people stealing copies of the game while they are in transit to the stores. I'm... pretty sure that's a non-issue, OP. People don't rob delivery trucks to get these games.

I was saying that in response of kind of trailing off from what I was really trying to say

Most likely not but those people who work there probably report those boxes as never being recieved, because people DO take packages and sell/keep them

How about instead of founding a shipping company they make all games downloadable and just pay so I and everybody else have faster internet. I mean it shouldnt be a problem if they have money to blow on a fleet of airplanes.

unless download quota increases dramatically across the board for all Australians, anything which involves downloading more then 500 meg of data will be hopeless. while most gamers would prob have very large data caps, it would be stupid to lock out high school / uni students and those with lesser internet coverage
