I didn't say massive amounts, just key installation points so the software won't initiate without them.

kinda like online keys only a few lines longer.

If I'm reading this right, I think the OP is trying to come up with a solution to people stealing copies of the game while they are in transit to the stores. I'm... pretty sure that's a non-issue, OP. People don't rob delivery trucks to get these games.

Most likely not but those people who work there probably report those boxes as never being recieved, because people DO take packages and sell/keep them

If you work for a delivery company, and you steal packages you're supposed to be delivering, you WILL be caught, and you WILL be fired and likely end up in jail.  Shipping manifests detail exactly what leaves the shipping dock, and how much is recieved upon delivery.  The amount of money lost by game developers through shipping theft is statistically insignificant.

Maybe the Video Game Industry should create it's own delivery company or some kind of thing ONLY for video games, instead of FedEx and UPS and companies like that, to REALLY make sure no one steals a ton of video game copies. I think it could benefit VGIndustry by not losing millions of dollars and can possibly stop piracy before game releases. Just a thought if anyone does want to bring it up to happen ;D

I'm sorry, but this is just completely fail. What a stupid moronic idea! Delivery isn't even the issue, its people cracking discs. So STFU noob.

Obviously the only possible solution is bludgeoning in the faces of pirates with an iceaxe.

New games hit the shelves on Tuesday, which means they need to be in the retail store a couple of days earlier so the staff can process the various different games. And if you're talking about a major chain, they have their own distribution facilities.

For example, EA ships the game to a Wal-Mart distribution center that then decides how many copies various stores get and sends it to them with other goods. That distribution center would need to get those copies at least a week or even two weeks before the street date.

So, what you're suggesting wouldn't prevent early leaks.

we'll prob go back to the orginal ME1 DRM which required the game to phone home constantly and then ppl will be like "what happens if the servers goes offline?!!!!!!!!!" queue endless debate.

maybe they can timestamp the dvds by the region it's being flown to or something
