Ive not actually been to any of the character threads, but after having been heavily involved in the Tali thread, im not sure i want to.
Some weird stuff went down in that thread...*shudders*

The name also has an "Inglorious Basterds" feel, which is both fun and funny to me.
Welcome aboard ![]()
Thanks and welcome! Hope its more than just the two of us, I've never created a group before so I have no idea what to do with it now.
Sudden rush of blood to the head - must be Friday!
Three now, although I also joined Maugrim's DAMP group. I think that one is more of a catch-all group, though, whereas this one is specifically about being casual.
We might also want to start a thread in the group to collect members' gamertags and usual time zones of play, to help people find folks on their platform who are playing during similar hours as themselves.
I've joined because I'm definitely starting slow on DAMP, despite having extensive experience on ME3MP and being a SPECTRE there. I've not really played the DA games on a high difficulty yet, although I am certain that will change once DAMP helps me cut my teeth. I'd never played ME on Insanity before ME3MP put me through the School of Hard Knocks and now Insanity feels fun.
But I'm also someone who's way more comfortable setting tactics and playing in real-time the whole time, rather than pause-and-play, so I feel I'll already be well-suited to adapting to DAMP very quickly and, therefore, may be able to help others either with advice for staying alive or just by being a strong team member.
I can't enjoy the game unless its hard so nightmare for me

Uber good idea. I've also just joined Maugrim's group and see what you mean about the list, thanks.
I'll post a new thread when I get a chance.
There's a casual DAMP group getting set up?
I'll go in. I'm just not one for goiing all nutzo about MP.
Plus, with me being on PC and everyone else I know RL that will be getting this game that will be on Xbox fo PS.....no RL playing with friends for me....*sad there's never cross platform/console*
And when I do play MP, I like working as a group, 'cause...MP is kind of about teamwork and not who's more bad@ass than someone else. Everyone has a role.....
Will be playing on PC.

Sounds like a perfect example of a Glorious casual to me! Welcome to the group.
I can't access any groups from my phone..I don't think, I'm not sure I've even found them since the switch over lol.
Don't think I can access groups from phone either. Its top left on the website, FORUMS | GROUPS | NEWS GROUPS | ABOUT
Sweet!
So, for those joining the Casual DAMP group....
what classes are people leaning towards?
(Rogue is my favorite DA class)
But I can't wait to see what the different classes play like, hoepfully mage is more balanced and warrior more fun to play.

I joined and went ahead and started a contact topic, so I gotcha covered. ![]()

Rogue has always been my favorite class in DA.
But I can see me really wanting to be the team tank/warrior. I sorta played that role in ME3MP with my Turian Sentinel... good jack-of-all-trades type and very tanky, so I liked spending time attracting the attention away from my weaker/squishier/glass cannon teammates - being a distraction as needed so the heavy hitters could whittle the enemy down from afar unmolested - and also being able to run into a lot of enemy fire to revive a fallen teammate without worrying about falling myself.
So, I can really see myself being a warrior tank a lot - at the beginning, at least - for DAMP. Ooh-Rah!

I play all classes, but prefer mage or rogue. Not a big fan of playing DA warriors, usually. I'd be happy to be a group mage, though I recommend you don't make me the party healer. Not because I don't want to, but aforementioned inability to divide attention - I'd not notice fast enough people are dying, and whoops. xD; Better off making me a damage-focused mage if someone else is doing rogue.
A lot of people have said I'm missing out on the whole combat side of hard and up when it comes to difficulties, but I just tell them I enjoy the way I play and that's all that matters. You play your way and I'll play mine.
This. So much this. I love that there's harder difficulties and highly focused tactical games/settings for those who enjoy such a thing. They should get to play the way they want, the way they enjoy. All I ask is for the same; we don't all have the same barometers of what constitutes "challenging" or "fun"
Archer or Hunter will be my go to class. Followed by Templar or Reaver.
But as mentioned, I'll change class depending on what is required to complete the team.
Are you referring to the 'sweat' post?
Yes, though fortunately i happened to miss that one. I also recall lots of feet and tentacles
Ok folks, inspired by this discussion I have created a group called:
DAMP - Glorious Casuals
I'm not planning on doing heavy moderation or anything, its just for hanging out, asking questions and hooking up with like minded players when DAMP launches.
Would it be alright if I joined the group too?
I'm getting increasingly more interested in MP but one of the big barriers for me is interacting with others. I chickened out of playing MP at EGX yesterday because the whole 'challenge' thing seemed too hardcore for me and I was worried I'd just disappoint or annoy the other players. Being able to play with people who don't care that I'm awful would be a relief. ![]()
I remember there was a ME3 bronze/silver players casual group. It had a collaboration with the gold/platinum group, where people would graduate to the higher difficulties. Many of the gold players joined the casual group too.
I don't remember which game had this option (I think it was Deus Ex: HR), but the difficulty options were not labelled "easy", "normal", or "hard". Instead they were labelled, "Tell me a story", "Give me Deus Ex," etc. With BW games, this naming convention really ought to be the norm since the story is a main selling point.
I would second this. Over in ME3MP Land, we had a group called "The Bronze Effect", which was named after the easiest difficulty level. It started off just as a group for people to casually play Bronze and not feel bad about it, but it did graduate to include the higher-difficulty levels as well... just the main purpose of the group was to have a chill, relaxed, and helpful atmosphere away from anyone who likes to rage or take games waaaaaaaaaaaay seriously, and it also served the purpose of helping to find like-minded individuals in your preferred difficulty level... or to find those a level above you who were willing to help show you the ropes of surviving a higher difficulty if you wanted to try moving up and challenging yourself more.
Bronze Effect still exists, of which I am a member.
I've never played a MP before, but I really want to try DAMP. It's cool that there could be groups for people like me
I wouldn't mind posting gameplay.....once I figure out how!
What platform are you gaming on? If it's a console, I may be able to give some advice on game capture cards. I've used one on my PS3 to capture and upload ME3MP videos to YouTube (link on my profile page). Haven't used it on the PS4 or XBox 360 yet, but it's compatible with them as well. PS4 also has its own built-in recording and sharing feature that I haven't really mussed with yet, but I believe it's only good for up to 15 minutes and that it only shares the videos by linking your Facebook account... which I was really
about doing, so I'm sticking with my capture card.
Would it be alright if I joined the group too?

Of course it would be all right for you to join! I do believe one of the base requirements of being chill and laid back as a group is being accepting of everyone who's not acting like a jerk, so climb aboard!
I wouldn't worry about disappointing anyone or your overall performance - it'll be about fun and I'm willing to bet that the more you play, the better you'll get anyway just through shear practice, repetition, and learning from watching others in the group. We all started out small somewhere... I know I sure did!

Nice to hear y'all are still around. I was a member for a while, but my friends list got full (PS3's limit is so low) and I ended up forming a group of folks I normally gamed with all the time due to same playing times, so I eventually fell out of the group. Still a great group, though, and glad you're still alive. I know a lot of groups have petered out from ME3MP just due to age and people moving on to other games. I still fire it up fairly often, but I know not nearly like I did in the heyday.
You are exactly who this group is aimed at my friend. Welcome aboardWould it be alright if I joined the group too?

Casuals are good. Wish I could join.
I will say a pure coop tends to create a lot lower barrier to entry as I found out with MEMP. I was afraid of a lot of the "other" types of MP I'd tried they were all disasters and continue to be - my level of suckage is such that I did a PvP on Destiny just now and registered 0 kills
The Coop made it a breeze and even if you weren't a 14 year old with reflexes like a ferret on crack you could still contribute and make a difference. Plus, I never with one or two exceptiosn heard any of the smack tak or obscenities I'd heard in other MP games.
to be fair just cause someone plays one easy doesn't mean they are not any good at the game, most of the time its cause they want to enjoy the story and not have to worry about every single battle in the game
I joined the group, too. It's not that I necessarily can't play well. I'm just nervous about playing with others and getting into an unfriendly group. Much rather have fun and dick around instead of accidentally getting roped into playing with those hardcore win or die types.
