Hi again! I was wondering, is it possible for me to just create a character without beating the game, then importing that character into the Keep where I can edit him from there?

 

Or do I need to beat the game before it turns into an importable save file?

 

Yes, you can just load into the Origin story, esc through the cutscene, and then save your game.  Takes awhile for it to upload, but as long as you aren't using the developer console and uploading is enabled in your game options, you should be good to go.  I did it myself earlier today, although it's only uploading photos for my DA2 characters last I checked... my DAO characters just have their names/gender/origin.

 

OH! Speak of the devil, my DAO portraits are there now!

The one thing I wish they'd do is let you view your Warden's level in the overview. As it is, I've got several of the same Warden (Origins, Awakening, Golems, Witch Hunt saves, I wager) and the only way to do so is to exit the Tapestry and go to the Heroes screen.

None of that matters to the Keep.  They are all exactly the same character.  Name, gender, class, and portrait.  That's it.  My avatar is my recent character Olivia Coulsand.  She's level 25. She's also standing next to Bryce Cousland, Duncan, and Arl Howe.  That's how much where she is in the game and her level matters to the Keep.  Now granted, what she's wearing matters to the portrait, which is why I used the console to cheat her up to level 25 so I could have her wearing the Knight-Commander's Plate that she wore in my original playthrough that I no longer have.

What exactly Does the "Merrill did not stay with Hawke" choice refer to? I noticed if I tried to change Merrill's status to being killed, it changes as well. But I can have Merrill alive and not staying with Hawke. How can that happen?

I do not remember it being that obvious; I suppose you had to play towards either neutrality (until the end game forces you to pick sides) or just side with the Templers.

If you romanced morrigan (slept with her)  but didn't do the dark ritual with her.

It's possible in DA2 for her to get mad at you during the final battle and leave.  I forget exactly how it all works in the actual game as I always tried to keep her alive, but I do know that it's not "Alive or dead" as the only options.

 

 

Here you go, this explains how it all works. If she's not full affection then she will leave after the final battle.  The only way she will stay past the final battle is if you are full friendship or rivalry.

I'm guessing it means that after Hawke accompanied Merrill to Kirkwall they said they wouldn't visit, and never really used her in the party (though I think she can still be chosen).

Yeah, I don't think anyone is 100% sure, but we think it matters as to how Cullen treats Hawke in DAI when he/she shows up.  So, I imagine you can get some idea of that, if you know Cullen's personality from the games, do you think he would be like "Hawke, you're awesome!" or be like "Hawke you are such a jerk..." based on your Hawke's actions.

So now that syncing is back (yay!) and those choices that didn't save are working (yay), I noticed there are no choices for Return to Ostagar, Leilana's Song and Golems of Amgarrak. I thought before the reason why I didn't see them was because of the syncing issue. Are there really no choices for these DLCs?

 

Oh should note... my ISS is still borked. It gets to the Urn and then goes silent and goes through both options first saying I defiled the ashes and then I purified the ashes.

Hmm, you might be right that everyone leaves, though not using her wouldn't do anything other than your friendship/rivalry would stay at 0.  Is it possible to say no to her coming to Kirkwall?  I know you can choose not to recruit Isabela and Fenris... not sure about her.

I agree Return to Ostagar should be included.  The others dont' matter.  Golems of Amgarrak had one choice. Did you do it?  That's it.  So, it's assumed that you did it.  As for Leliana's Song, the basics of what happened are not a choice, plus remember what Leliana says in the beginning? She basically says outright that she's telling this story, and it may or may not be true.  She's an Orlesian bard very adept at lying.

 

Leliana's Song Opening dialogue: Do you want to know a secret? This tale of foolish people long ago...I know what happened, and what is true... but I don't know how it should end. Let me tell it one more time, and perhaps together, we will see.

 

Leliana's Song Ending dialogue: Do you want to know a secret? That moment, I keep because even now I don't know what ending serves best.  But being able to choose, that is the truth of this story. The rest, it changes with the audience.  All things change, when they find purpose.

 

So then, as I said only she knows what REALLY happened, your Leliana's Song playthrough was just the story she TOLD you.

Only bug I am still experiencing that bothers me is that the ISS still says The Warden participated in the dark ritual with Morrigan when my Warden is female and romanced Leliana and I had Alistair perform the dark ritual. Reported.

Looking over the new trailer, than hopping onto the keep, I'm getting worried. So far when we choose Hawke's class, they only give us one choice for their weapon. Now that we know he's in the game, are we going to be shoehorned on their weapon preference?
I really don't want to see my archer rogue now attacking with dual daggers and I'm sure people don't want to see their warrior using the wrong weapon as well. I've already did some feedback on it in the keep but what do you guys think about it? Is it an important thing to have your Hawkes fully represent how they were in DA2?

They have mentioned that you will have the same creation options for Hawke as you do for your Inquisitor at least in looks, so I imagine they'll have the same "pick a starting weapon" when you are doing the customization of Hawke.

I've looked and so far I genuinely don't know about anything this could apply to other than your own opinion about whether your Hawke got along with Cullen in their conversations. Perhaps that's all it is. There's a dialogue option in Act 3 to say you are friends with him. But the alternative isn't all that unfriendly.

Cullen friendship tile is most likely a thing specific to Inquisition as in how Cullen either friendly or not with Hawke when Cullen speaks of the Champion during the inquisition game and nothing more

I'm pretty certain Cullen friendship has to do with your responses right from the first quest where you encounter him trying to get info out of that Templar recruit.

Is there a specific difference in how he talks to you? the only difference I've noticed in his dialogue is from how you act with Meredith and Orsino in the Act 3 intro. And even that is about the Meredith or the Order in general, not his personal opinion of Hawke.
