I was wondering are there some choices that don't import properly? I initially played as an elf with most of what I could remember of what I wanted for my first DA:I playthrough, but after 30 hours and just arriving at Skyhold I decided I hated the way my elf looked in the initial romance cutscene. Sounds a little shallow I know but I kind of roleplay my character and make choices I think that character would make and he just didn't feel Dalish (I think it was the voice and his responses didn't seem right for his backstory), so this was just one extra thing that made me want to come back to the character later.
Suffice to say I'm the kind of player for whom little story elements really matter to my enjoyment of the game (which I absolutely love). On my second attempt at a first playthrough I changed some things that I thought would give me a more interesting world: Alistair a drunk, Loghain alive, human Warden married to Anora, Isolde dead and convinced Branka to destroy the anvil. Unfortunately after six hours it seems my world state, despite being imported correctly, has decided something else for me. My codex has decided Branka made golems for the Warden (I decided I could live with that and carried on), Loghain is alive, but I've just spoken to Connor, he didn't mention his mother (seemed strange but maybe that's how it's supposed to be), and worse he questioned the mindset of Alistair. Alistair should be a drunk, so while I can accept that he would make bad choices, as he shouldn't be the king his impaired decision making skills shouldn't be a factor in why the mages are in Redcliffe.
It's been a while since I played DA1 and DA2, so I'm not sure if the Keep has let me create world states that can't exist, it's not recognising some of the choices or they just aren't actually usable (I've gone through the Tapestry too and Varric sometimes described different events to what I had chosen). Anyone able to shed any light on this or know if it's being fixed? I think I'd prefer to wait and just replay the first two games if there's a big risk of getting to later points and having a lot of big choices made for me at random. I haven't met Morrigan yet, but I know she appears and I really don't want her to have a non-demon child and a scheduled Maury appearance to say the Warden fathered it. I think the Keep is a brilliant idea but it's a shame to spend a while deciding on a world state, importing it, and then playing for a few hours and finding out it hasn't taken for whatever reason.
Thanks in advance, sorry the post is so long.
