Weird question but:

- Do the imported data work for 1 1/2 year old savegames or was something changed in this time that I should start a new game? (never got to finish this savegame yet *sigh*)

Reason I ask: After alot of reading about how this whole system works, from what I understand the data is 'set' after starting a new game (so the tapestry you use then is the data the game reads out for the whole playthrough), but when I look at the "Playthrough"-state in Dragonkeep it seems to always take the one I have "exported at the moment" (so it shows the tapestry of my female-mage playthrough instead of the one that was supposed to be in the world-data-files).

No matter how much I read how this system works, it's still really confusing to understand what I "have to do" when I'm working with more than just one playthrough...

^ in the Keep menu on the left, hit World States, then click the dropdown and pick Playthrough States (or use the arrow > to navigate on the right). Those will be the states that are updated as you play DAI. If you want to manually edit those tiles, you need to load it in the tapestry.

So, I still have to change the "exported to DAI" world state by hand, when I change the save game I'm playing in?

(still trying to figure out which of the two playthroughs I actually want to make my "This time I really play it to the end"-one... the system seems to hate such play-behaviour *smirks*)

When you are finally going to play DAI and make your character, then you load whichever world state into the tapestry and export to DAI.

Let's say you want to have two different DAI world states, one where you have Alistair as king (A), and one where Anora is queen ( B).

You load world state A into the tapestry and export into DAI. Then you load up DAI and make your character. Once you have gotten to the point where you are standing on the bridge with Cassandra, do a hard save (menu, save) and then you're all set with that world state in DAI and can leave the game.

For your next play, go back to the Keep, load up world state B into the tapestry and export into DAI. Then you load up DAI and make your second character and repeat the process. Save on the bridge with Cassandra.

So now you have two DAI characters, one with world state A, and another with world state B. The world states are baked into your saves from that point on, so there is no more messing with the Keep. You can switch between those two DAI characters as often as you want.

In the Keep, those two playthrough states will get updated as you play along in DAI. The tapestry will NOT change, only those playthrough states.

Alright, thank you alot for this clear information :)

Guess my over-a-year-old savegame was just messed up then, it always took the world-state which I just exported to DAI (not sure if it probably was messed up all along and I just noticed it now), so I guess I have to remake this character and start new so the world-state actually works.

You really helped me alot with this, again thanks alot *cheers*

Good day! Recently I have returned to Dragon Age series and found myself playing DA II and enjoying it very much. Beat the game today (my second playthrough) and decided to look into DA Keep. Have to say, I haven't visited neither DA games not Keep for a few years so I forgot everything. Decided to link my old playthrough of DA:O and new save from DA II and now there's a mess in my account.. I remember when loading Keep for the first time you just choose you save, it automatically links them into one worldstate file for your DA:I, but how do you do this if you need more than one world? With different outcome and saves?

I loaded new world in the 'World States' menu and then 'Replay Startup' where you can choose your heroes. After that I realized most of the choices were wrong so I manually change them for my recently played DA II hero, but thing is, I remember so little what I did in Origins 2 years ago.

Is there possibility to load my old Hero of Ferelden so all the choices I made appears correctly? Or now you alwas have to manually change them every time you want a new world state? Or perhaps I did something wrong? Keep seems confusing for me now, so any help would be appreciated. Also my sincere apology if that is such a silly question. Thank you very much for your time!

^ The Keep only gets basic information about your heroes from DAO and DA2 - name, gender, class, origin (in case of DAO) and look (it stores small avatar you see in game to be more precise). Unfortunately you have to manually set your decisions, since they're not imported.

Thank you for response. I remember when I launched the Keep for the very first time it gets most of my story, quests, even unfinished romance with Alistair correct. Few decisions were wrong but it was because of glitchy bioware.social platform (I had those choies wrong here for som reason). It is a little bit odd considering BioWare improved the Keep during past few years and even added new features. Oh well, I have already made a decision to re-play Origins once again in order to complete Witch Hunt and Awakening, so once I'm done I will certainly remember most of the choices I made my first playthrough.

Have I did it right though? Making new world in 'World States' and then hit 'Replay startup' I mean, or I can just make a new world and adjust it according my game? What for that 'Replay Startup' option for?

"Replay startup" is to re-sync the Keep with your various accounts (XBox, PSN, Origin). You don't need to use it to create a new World State.

Here's my issue:

I put the wrong profile name into my xbox one game. Now I can't remove the profile off my dragon  age inquisition. Causing me to not have save files transfer from my other profile from keep.

Talk to EA support about that. Or add yourself as a friend on the keep

Hi :) I don't really understand how to remove my current tapestry :( <- found out!

I also don't know how to sync. There's no sync button that I can find, and the current tapestry is a defualt one.

There was one attempt at syncing when I logged in for the first time. But now it's stuck on the defualt and I don't know how to make it sync a new tapestry for me.

Someone please help me. I heard that the warden and champion from previous versions may show up in the game.. If they do, I want them to be the characters I made, not some stupid custom standard character that the developers came up with.. That mage has a BEARD. EW. *ahum*

Anyways.. please help.. I'm apparently not smart enough to understand something that should be simple even after googling so many articles about syncing...

So question one comes down to, how to make it sync?

I'm impatient and making my own tapestry for origins. The following text is made white because of spoiler alert for origin ending = (please select if you want to help answer my question)

In my game I made alistair sleep with morrigan and I killed the archdemon myself. So we both survived because of her ritual. But when making the tapestry and selecting my warden as the demon slayer, it will force my warden to die, but in truth he killed the arch demon and survived! I was unable to find a tapestry that defines whether or not morrigan does the ritual and with whom, which is a rather big plot point to miss for origins, but maybe I'm just unable to find it.. Help please!

Are your Wardens and Hawkes in the Heroes section?

As far as your whited-out text: Check the "Companions" section. Once you set the relevant tile, all other choices related to the ending can be set properly.

Only my hawk was in the heroes section. (avatar wise) For Origins I get a random avatar for picking Alim the elven mage. But I still had to build the entire tapestries all by myself because I didn't know how to sync.

Also thanks!! I found the morrigan option in the companions section like you said. I wasn't aware of the arrow to the right that lead to more parts of the tapestry :)

But I still don't know how to sync :( Not that it's of much use to me now that I've rebuilt everything myself from memory. Though it would still be nice to know..

The only decisions that sync are from the Keep to Inquisition when you choose to import your world state at the beginning of the game, and then from Inquisition to the Keep if you play while online and signed in to Origin. The decisions from the first 2 games need to be chosen in the tapestry when you create your world state.

Characters brought over from the old BioWare Social Network (that contained the data on your characters from Origins and 2) only brought in your character's avatar, race, class, and gender.. but not the decisions. You still would have needed to build your story in the tapestry, which you have done :)

I see, thanks a lot for telling me :) I hope the syncing goes all right.. Too bad it goes automatic and I have no control over when it syncs myself. I've been playing a lot of hours, but my tapestry is still quite empty xD but maybe I'm just a very slooooow player.. haha..

Edit: Okay I would really like some syncing help. I finished the inquisition game, but my tapestry has more hidden blanks than it has pictures :/

Especially for my social tapestry, I was friendly with everyone and did almost everyone's side-quests. And yet, the only information on there is the fact I didn't romance anyone (pity.. that's my favorite part.. my heart is heavy with disappointment..) *ahum* Tapestry.. Oh right and one little image about iron bull, the character I interacted the least with! What can I do to make it sync properly?? It's obviously recognising SOME decisions I made, but skipping a whole lot more.

I logged into the Keep this morning to mix up some of my World States, and.. all of my Wardens have disappeared from the Keep without a trace. I have no clue what caused this, seems completely random. My other custom heroes are still there, it's just my Wardens. Has anyone else encountered this issue? Is there anyway to retrieve them short of loading the old saves and trying to upload them all again?

Mine appear to be all there. I would try re-uploading them, yes.

As for Spicy Puppy: Turn off the spoiler protection, copy the playthrough state to editable, and manually adjust there.

Are you kidding me?! Why do I have to spend hours of my time building a tapestry?!

I thought the whole intention of the tapestry was so that future games like inquisition would be able build themselves up from simply playing the game.

Importing my content from game 1 to game 2 went flawless and only took a second, why does the third game have to be such a hassle with building tapestries and everything!? Why couldn't they have just kept it the same, press an import button, let it load like it did for dragon age 2, and done!

I'm not going to build the whole tapestry from scratch, the synching should just work!

Someone please tell me how to get it to synch properply? If this is not possible, where can I file a complaint?

@Puppy

If your Wardens and Champions are showing up in the DA Keep (Heroes section) then the syncing is working. Achievements and dlc owned also sync.

I am glad the import from DAO to DA2 worked so well for you. It didn't for a large number of people. Some choices didn't import correctly between Origins and Awakening. Maybe they weren't important to you or maybe your choices coincided with the errors. Please remember, if you played DAO on PS3, for example, and DA2 on the PC (or even a different PS3) you couldn't import your choices and didn't even have the option to create a world-state for your Hawke.

If you choose not to take advantage of the choices in the tapestry, that is up to you. If you want to customize a world-state to import into DAI, then you have to make decisions in the tapestry. How much time you spend is up to you. If you simply select a Warden, a Champion and a few key results, then you aren't spending more than a few minutes.

You are correct, the intention of the tapestry is to make it easier for future games regardless of gaming platform. Your decisions in DAI are being recorded under 'Current playthroughs'. After playing DAI, if you want a particular pt to be available as a world-state for future games, copy it to editable world-states. If you see that a decision was incorrectly recorded, you have the option to correct it. You can copy it mutliple times and change some of your choices to give you a different world-state without having to make every single decision again.

If you can't see all the tiles, go to the tapesty settings and change your spoiler toggles to show.
