Just got into the keep, having fun, whoop whoop.

 

* Something that's really confusing to me: deciding whether you were on a rival path or a friendship path with your companions in Dragon Age 2. The wording is very confusing -- if your Hawke was on a friendship path with Anders that doesn't mean they understood why he did it, for example. I understand why these choices exist, I just wish there was an option for everyone else like what you had with Varric.

 

* I had some issues in Chrome where making a choice that affected others froze the page as the site struggled to bring up the "Make changes?" window.

 

That's all I've got for now.

 

I'm guessing the friendship/rivalry specific tile for Varric is there because he's going to be a companion in the new game and it's likely he'll be asked about the Champion, if only by Cassandra. Friendship/Rivalry with Hawke's other companions isn't as relevant.

 

However, you an still suggest these as plot additions via the beta feedback button if you wish.

It's not on the known issues list but I have reported the glitch.

Every time I switch between two world saves, or when I reload the tapestry after signing off (or pressing refresh) a few choices reset to default:

The Grimoire goes back to "never aquired"
Cullen and Hawke go to "were not friends"
Oghren and Felsi were never reunited
Goldanna says "Never encountered", same goes to Marjoilanne

 

Yeah these are the most prevalent for me too.

 

I've noticed Kitty defaults to "Did not encounter Kitty and Gascard defaults to "Didn't kill Gascard" although this happens slower.

it's not on the list, but it's happening to everyone so they're very much aware of it. :)

 

Oh, awesome. Discovered this issue today myself. Hope it's fixable!

Well, it survived this night, I logged off yesterday, and I found it same friendly this morning. But I know that it had reset to 'not friends' several times before.


Can anyone explain what makes Cullen a friend or not a friend? The descriptions don't help at all but just repeat what the tiles say.

I'm guessing the friendship/rivalry specific tile for Varric is there because he's going to be a companion in the new game and it's likely he'll be asked about the Champion, if only by Cassandra. Friendship/Rivalry with Hawke's other companions isn't as relevant.

 

However, you an still suggest these as plot additions via the beta feedback button if you wish. 

 

Varric's meter isn't dependent on an outcome the way the others are. (The feedback button wasn't working for when I first got in so I just wondered over here and futzed around. :x)

The general consensus I've seen around here seems to be that it will merely affect how Cullen speaks of Hawke in DAI. Cullen seems to be on general good terms with Hawke in DA2 no matter what side you choose (though some people have said that he seems a bit friendlier if you make an effort to speak with him in all the Acts).

New one: The flag for Fool's Gold shows up even if Nate was alive in Awakening.  That cropped up during my testing earlier and hasn't gone away.

All plot tiles always appear regardless of their dependencies. There are no tiles which vanish completely. Otherwise you would end up with a giant knot of plot flags that are possible but unviewable until you reverse engineer the entire world state due to how the default world state is set up.

Not sure if he is more friendly if you talk to him every chapter, but that is the only real option that I can think of that would really represent a friendship between the two of them. Maybe it is partially meant as a head canon type deal. Would be weird as I think that is the only one like that, but oh well.

Well, the approval of Anders' actions tile is mostly headcanon as well, as far as I remember. It doesn't bother me, since it beats going with a default reference in DAI.

It does need to be made a little more clear. I'm still trying to figure out if the criteria in DA 2 or objective or subjective.

Does anyone else have the problem of their saved world state disappearing? On the first available save slot I fully customized an export file, saved and locked it. I also renamed the file as "DA:I first playthrough" or something alone those lines. 

 

Following that I selected another saved slot and proceeded to edit it for another playthrough. Following that probably did not use the keep for a couple days. Today I visited the keep to find that my first saved state is gone. The saved file is still locked but none of the choices I'd made are there. Also the name of the state has changed to "Saved slot 1" has anyone else experienced this?

I can.  Whenever I choose those options, and then refresh the page (or log out/back in,) it automatically resets itself.  For instance, I have been trying to get the Keep to recognize that I killed "Kitty" and saved the little girl.  Whenever I hit refresh, the option goes back stating that I never confronted her, even if I try to lock in the choice.  Same with Flemeth and the Grimore (I defeated Flemeth and took the book from her, and that keeps reverting,) as well as with the others I mentioned in one of my earlier posts.

Hmm, okay.  It just wasn't there when I set up my world state the first time, then logged out to see if it would take.  Now I know.   :)

Those are known issues, actually. Those tiles were added with the last update and none of the decisions are sticking. Hopefully it will be fixed in the next build. :D

I just want to say that I'm glad to be doing this.  It's not only a lot cooler than I imaged (I was picturing tickboxes with some sort of art background,) but I can see how this could come in handy for other games.  I'm also honestly happy to help out my fellow DA fans.  The testing and feedback I'm doing now will make a lot of folks' experience with the Keep smoother down the road.

Thankfully, I was directed here for more direct interaction among the beta testers.

You did the right thing for sure. :) Always good to check! And...that's really weird that the forum link is broken. I don't remember hearing about that bug before.

Yeah, I click on the link at the top and it says, "Error, you don't have permission to view that."  I have a feeling this is one of those things that is a work in progress.

 

So every couple of hours or so, I check on the Keep.  I don't submit the same bug reports over and over if I can help it, I'm mostly looking for any new ones.

Just had a bug with ISS, several times it went back and quickly replayed previous animations before continuing the story, finally ended up with an error message (that I could not copy/paste) 

 

Uncaught TypeError: Cannot set property 'Loghainbloodchest' of null

Not that bug, but I was warned that the ISS tends to bug out.  

 

Link at the top of the Keep page is working again.

I've noticed buggy-ness before, but not this particular one. I just reloaded and the auto-solver wanted me to change warden from female to female, Urn not poisoned to Urn not poisoned, and Morrigan had OGB with warden to Morrigan had OGB with warden? (Of course, I had female warden and OGB with Alistair before...)

Scrolling through the Tapestry and choices with mouse scroll would be nice.
Sometimes the "Edit Choice" only shows up like half-way through the default cinematic.

Some of the scrolling issue has been addressed:

 

 

Hey there - 

The issue with scrolling on iOS and Chrome is a known bug.  It should work in Safari, or you can "fix" it in Chrome by doing something to the page before you try to scroll.  Switching between portrait and landscape orientations, or entering and exiting the hero tile should both work.

The duration of the required connection is really not the issue with this, it's the fact that it needs to actually happen no matter how short the connection is. One of the defining features of the series is susceptible to server and internet issues. The previous games are basically timeless because they don't rely on anything external.

But i seem to be talking to the wind anyway, i just hope they change this after a while.



How is it too late ? I don't remember bioware being shy about doing day one patches and DLC.
Besides, what i'm actually wondering is why does the file have to be saved in the cloud exclusively instead of offering it to be downloaded to your machine, shouldn't the file with the keep choices be an extremely small database. Archaic floppy disks could handle that amount of information without a problem.

All I can say is wow to this. Cloud servers are nothing new, and I doubt would change the save file carry over just because this is a better solution to it especially since they switch game engines. Not to mention like you said your spitting into the wind in this day and age of the cloud and Internet accessibility. The fact that someone who has brought DA: I uses the Keep which is run through a origin owned cloud is a mute point.

I clicked on that earlier on accident and much of the same happened to me.  Only...it asked me to set the Warden as Alistair's mistress and the Warden doing the OGB...which would have been a neat trick considering my Warden is set to female.  :P

 

Only, when forced to make the changes, the changes never happened.  I was still set at being in a romance with Alistair and becoming his queen.  Which is fine by me, but still odd.

I have been having something similar  for a few days too but the line # is 0.  As soon as I log in and get to the tapestry it pops up and I can't do anything.
