So I'm getting the common bugs in the ISS (changing Warden class, female Warden impregnating Morrigan, Meeran/Athenril pictures switched, etc.) but my main concern is the impression that some of the narration would be a bit confusing to a newbie - for example, Varric never mentions who Loghain actually is, just that he betrays Cailan (and a bit later that he's on the throne). We, having played DAO, know that he was a respected general, but I was under the impression that Keep is supposed to act as a gateway for people new to the series. A couple of extra words in the voiceover to make Loghain's role clearer would've gone a long way. A little extra clarification on the role of the Chantry, Circle and Templars (just a line or two in the Broken Circle recap) would also make things a lot easier to understand, and I think a few words describing the Qun as the ideology/religion of the Qunari would smooth over the jump into Seamus converting and the city being forced to "submit to the Qun".

Perhaps I'm underestimating people's capacity for inference though; any Keepers here who are new to the series? I'd love to be put straight because overall I really like the ISS and the feeling that it relies slightly on prior knowledge is a niggling concern.

Also, was there ever an option for Hawke that let you choose whether Varric's description of her was accurate when he first talked to Cassandra (i.e. default or custom Hawke)? I vaguely remember hearing something like that was in the Keep but certainly haven't found it.

Romance her and reject the Dark Ritual.

Thanks, feels like I'm going through another playthrough

I noticed the Awakening tile in the keep allows a saved both Vigil's keep and Amaranthine choice.

It is not possible to save both the keep and the city in the game as you have to make a choice between the 2.

Is that as mistake?

And also it doesn't seem the changes I make to my world state are getting saved, after I restarted my browser all my choices are gone.

It is possible, you need to fully upgrade the Keep and then save Amaranthine. The ending doesn't seem like you do since the Keep falls regardless but you don't get that ending slide if you didn't meet the criteria.

Yeah, the ending slides were messed up in a lot of people's games it was always intended to be possible to save both if you did it right, but a lot of times it would bug and your ending slides would tell you the keep fell even though it didn't.  Just one of many bugs that are the reason we have the Keep instead of importing save files!  Or like if you didn't have Nathaniel on your team at the end, he would die in the assault on the Keep, no matter whether you stayed in Amaranthine or let it burn and save the Keep, Nathaniel never lived.  Although, I am not sure if that was intended or not, he's the only one that it's IMPOSSIBLE for him to survive the ending unless you babysit him (essentially lol) so seems to me that sounds like a bug.

not sure it is an issue, I believe not but is a question anyway

How can you have a normal baby with Morrigan? You kind of cheat the the dark pact? Goes to bed with her and in the end other grey warden dies in your place?

Yeah, I was surprised about that too when I saw the Twitch stream the other week, before I was a Keeper. Apparently if you were romancing Morrigan but didn't do the Dark Ritual she is pregnant all the same. It says so in the epilogue.

In other news: The bug's been reported but I wanted to know if anyone else was having the same issue where you lock your world state but choices change when you next enter the Keep? In particular it's been happening with the Goldanna, Marjolaine, Oghren and Cullen choices.

Seems like many are experiencing this issue. For me it is also pretty much the same tiles, that reset:

DAO - Denerim - Goldanna
DAO - Denerim - Marjolaine
DAO - Awakening - Oghren and Felsi
DAO - Stone Prisoner - Kitty and Amalia
DAII - Companions - Cullen

Does anyone know if they are going to add another selection bar to the heroes selection? Because I have 20 something Hawkes and I know I didn't finish the game with that many, can't even imagine how many wardens I"ll have when they finish the BSN stuff their doing.

If not then they should add a selection bar or check box to sift out the heroes we stopped playing as because it is a real chore for me to go through and look at all the heroes I gave up on just to find the ones I liked. And I do know about the class, gender, race tabs but even with those I still **** my head and wonder who the hell some of them are or when I made them.

Does anyone else agree or am I the only one who played both games so much that I can't find who I'm looking for?

Yes, I'll be in the same position. I've got quite a few abortive games that I won't want to use (as well as some incomplete ones I'll probably "pretend" to the keep I finished!). As a newcomer to the keep, I am slogging through the forums and I've just come across a post in the syncing forum saying that there is a plan to allow you to delete unwanted heroes from the keep, which I'll definitely be using. Know it's not exactly what you're looking for, if you want to keep and finish some of your other playthroughs, but maybe it will help:

Although it's not up right now, the old BSN legacy site you can go to it and delete your characters there, unless you mean that characters already imported into the Keep itself can't be deleted? That I am not sure about, but yeah.  I have my old saves on my external HD, just need to transfer them over and load each of them up to sync them when it's time, but when I saved them on my external I also deleted them from the BSN site.

If you play on PC, I made a thread of recommend bug-fix mods for Awakening.  It fixes a key choice in order to make that happen.

Those were recently added choices.  It's been a problem before.  New choices have trouble sticking.  The new update should help, which should hit within a few days.  Canada's Thanksgiving was this week, so it probably threw things off a bit.

According to the more veteran Beta posters, the Bone Pit dragon refused to die for weeks. :P

I tried renaming my different world states but it doesn't seem to stick - their names keep reverting to "New World State 1". Anyone else has that issue?

I have a problem of such kind:
In my game of DA:O I had my male warden romancing Morrigan, giving her a baby and following her through the eluvian, but I also agreed for the ritual. Which baby should i choose then? A "god" one or a human one?
And one more problem. In my playthrough (the same one) I finally married Anora and we both were king and queen, while Alistair wasn't hardened, so I allowed him to kill Logaine. My warden finally slayed the Archdemon but survived and Alistair continued the way of Grey Wardens. But the tapestry shows that it's not possible, because Alistair should die to the Archdemon (but he didn't, as I've met him leading the wardens in DA2). That's quite sad I can do nothing about it :(

The Keep also doesn't recognise any of my real DA:O characters and any DA:O achievements but everything's fine about DA2. that's strange...

It's normal as the syncing is down.

If you did the ritual than God baby. Selecting that should fix the Alistair thing also....although I thought you couldn't marry Anora if Loghain was killed. Might be remembering that wrong though.

And synching is down with DAO at the moment hence why you are getting nothing from DAO.

If Alistair kills Loghain then you can marry her.

What exactly does the [Debug] Replay Onboard... button in the left hand menu do? It seems to let you go through and select all the options again (syncing, tapestry etc). The reason I ask is because I'm not sure if it wipes any existing data when you go through that process.

Can it wipe any choices in an existing tapestry that you have open? It may just be that I'm still getting used to managing the world states.

It re-imports your chars and achievements into the keep but does not touch your worldstates

That was removed. A few more lines about loghain might be better, there's a budget though.

Nope, but report it anyway.

I've been getting the same, plus Flemeth's grimoire.

Also, not sure if it's related, but my male human mage keeps turning into a female elf (still a mage) when I'm not looking. Which is especially odd, since it still thinks I romanced Morrigan and had Messere Old God Baby with her.

The changing tiles is a known issue, the changing of the warden happens if you run the ISS, but report it anyway (and if you didnt use the ISS report that fact)

Hi all,

Just arrived at the Keep and it is a great deal to take in! Kudos to the Bioware team for tackling such an ambitious project!

Question for fellow beta testers - I've read the official posts on where and how to start. Just wondering if there was any "on the ground" advice for the best way to go about testing the keep, the kinds of bugs to look out for/focus on, or other tips of the trade from those of you who are doing it for a while.

I miss the old Bioware Social Network because, courtesy of having played through DA:O three times and DA2 twice, I'm hazy on some of the decisions I made and would love the reminders! :-D

I miss the old Bioware Social Network because, courtesy of having played through DA:O three times and DA2 twice, I'm hazy on some of the decisions I made and would love the reminders! :-D

First place to start is the read up on the known issues

http://forum.bioware...2-known-issues/

Just so you know that they already know about those issues and don't have to really report them. One thing add as known issues, some tiles aren't sticking and revert back to their default state such as Kitty, Flemeth's grimore, Cullen to name a few.

Another one is the autosolver isn't solving all plot incompadibilities like it used to, and making people change their choices when there's no inconsistency to be found. Example, you can select to be Alistair mistress while romancing Leliana or Zevran, this isn't suppose to be possible. Another one, it might force you to keep Zevren alive just to make Alistair King, which isn't a requirement.

Second, feedback button is your friend. :)

I would focus largely on Keep interface bugs, such as loading, text problems, ISS stuttering. Bugs with plots are fairly well reported and it's best to ask here first whether to report it or not since half the time people think it's a bug when in truth they didn't know the combination existed. Also check the Wiki to refresh your mind on how a plot went.

Really there isn't one specific way to approach the Keep, I would start by recreating your favorite world states just to get an idea of how it works then you can try to break the keep afterwards. I've been using the randomize (Yolo) button to make random states and see if I can find anything new.

Lastly syncing is down.

Not being able to see the whole message is a known error. 2. All Shared worldstates have been removed currently while syncing is disabled

Thanks for the info. I don't recall seeing that error mentioned before and the tutorial hasn't been updated. I'm new to the Keep and was confused because apparently when I shared my world-state with someone they could see it but I can't open the one they sent me. Now, if the one they created is old enough for sharing to be disabled, then I understand. But when they replied about mine it made another copy which I can't open either. Under shared world-states I have theirs (not able to open) and 'Copy of Copy of Copy of My WS' which I also can't open.

I'll wait for the next update and try again.

That's what I've been doing, although I've been putting suggestions in the feedback area as I think of them.

Music does play during the ISS, or it could be apart of that feature they showed during the last Twitch feed.

Hmm ok I tired looking through this thread to see if this specific issue has been mentioned but there's way too many pages  :P

The issue I'm having is that when I tried to change from Alistair ruling Fereldan solely, to him ruling it with Anora it changes my romance from Zevran to Morrigan and changes me siding with the mages at the circle to me siding with the templars. If i try to change either of them back a conflict comes up saying that Alistair has to rule by himself.  Has this issue already been mentioned? I know Alistair seems to be causing a few problems so I wouldn't be surprised!

Let's say you never played DAO or DA2 (or you have but that that moment there are some synch problems :P) and you try to create World State from scratch ... is there a way to rename the default hero? If I remember correctly you can't choose surnames, even in the game, but I know you can rename your hero. But trying to rename it in the keep it's either not possible or I'm missing something :D
