the CE isn't avaliable in JB Hi Fi ( I work there ) and seemingly only in EB I don't know what agreement EA has or w/e but that's how it is here in Aus, I don't normally buy CE but ME2 is special

You'd think with the gaming industry being over two billion dollars worth in Australia they'd have lower prices on games. Compared to the rest of the world, we get ripped off.

I never buy my games from local retailers due to the average $90-110 price. I always buy my games from Steam which are usually just $50USD, which is just $55AUD, always a nice half-price save from local retailers...

But.... On Steam ME2 won't be available to play until the 29th for Australia. Saved money, but a longer wait apparently...

Wasn't one game... Unchartered like 150? The american dollar isn't that different anymore. It's irritating. They treat us like ignorant children.

usually the case, I get my games from play asia the difference is quite noticeable but it's at the expense of not being able to play the game for a good week or more after it launches

...Should boycott game retailers and encourage everyone to buy from cheaper sources like Steam, get message through to them about prices....

I'm always surprised at how many fellow aussies don't get that we're being horridly ripped off on games and hardware prices. I paid 109$ for the preorder of the ME2 PC collector's edition.
exchange rate with the USD still doesn't explain it : /

shoddy internet coverage / high inet cost doesn't really help with digital distribution. most games are 5 to 10 gig in size these days, some of my friends are still sitting on a 20gig cap

Except steam can be even worse sometimes. Anyone else remember what they did with Borderlands?:pinched:

$150 for the collector's edition at EBGames here in NZ.

It's sad that I didn't really care what the price was, only that I could still get a preorder in. Grats to Bioware for a persuasive marketing campaign I guess ...

Well when we are sitting on 90 usd i don't think game prices should be as high as it is. If you must buy from a normal retail store i find Jb-Hifi to have alright prices at release.

Same price at Mightyape as well (man those console games are pretty pricey).
