Meh. Straight girls could have ten LIs if it meant straight guys and lesbians could get two companion romances as far as I'm concerned.

People tend to forget that not everyone plays the games same way. I'm straight female player but I have 8 LI options. Not for my every quizzy.
That said I'm much more looking into playing male quizzy than female with this one. I don't have attractive (to me) option for my female qunaris and I didn't plan to play humans or elves. I hate the walking and running animations they had in gameplay trailers, qunari was lot better, much less supermodel like.
In the other hand I hoped that Cassandra was into girls since she's smoking hot. Cass is everything I want to be as woman, she's ideal to me. I will definitely romance her. Then there is Dorian who is totally my type as a guy. So since I have preferences of cource I will be looking more playing male quizzy who has 1) my ideal as woman 2) my type, and I won't even be forced to change my races and characters I have planned!

that is a problem. no PC should have more options than a man. I demand a nerf on female inquisitors!
male should have AT LEAST 2 additonal options over others.
1 out of 10, troll harder next time.

I may love him when I get to talk to him in the game, but there hasn't been much on the character that draws me to him.
Well, might be because he's sort of been the least-talked about companion in the game by the devs, it seems.

The more straight women excited by the romances, the more I think the DA team has decided romance resources should be skewed toward them.
It'll be interesting to see DA4. One extra Romance in 2, 2 extra in Inquisition.

So came back to the forums after a bit and saw the romance thing. Gotta say I'm kinda disappointed. I could care less about what they look like, but as a gamer who plays straight males I feel kinda jipped. Let me explain...I typically like to play either a straight male Elf supremacist or a straight male Mage supremacist.
I do not see Josephine or Cassandra being sypmathetic to either of those belief systems. Neither Josephine or Cassandra seem like pro-mage or pro-elf characters. I don't mind having these characters or a lot of diversity, my main problem is that I feel like straight male romances are really relegated into a tiny little corner. There is a lack of diversity here in my opinion. There are many players (the majority of which are straight males), who hold a pro-mage or pro-elf opinon thought the former than the latter obviously. Yet I see no romance option available to that belief system.
Call me a cynic, but I a part of me feels like Bioware went politically correct and over the top with this. By that I mean they jumped way over on the other side so they could say, "Hey look at how open minded we are! We gave women more love interests!"
I know the people at Bioware say they base their romances around the characters and nothing more, but just all the pro-women stuff they have (which is good stuff don't get me wrong here. I love their fight against sexual assault and for women's rights) been posting on FB and such leaves me feeling like it effect story development.
It's like with actors. Maybe it's just me, but the instant they start declaring their politics or charities or what not I feel a little distasteful regardless of what side they go for. Your job is entertainment. Keep politics out of it.
And I derailed. TLDR; Romances should be spread even across ideologies imo.

More LIs for females?
I guess Bioware assumed men are usually less emotional than women (your average male player is actually less concerned about LIs, he is more concerned about tactical mode, powerful items ... yada yada yada - I know for a fact that my man is like that).
Also, I remember how unfair the romance part looked like in BG2 and NWN2 (I didn't play BG1 and NWN1). Bioware is changing that? Fine by me.
Oh, and I think we should all just romance Bull. I'm sure he won't mind the attention (oh, yes Bull's thread is in the opposite direction ... sorry).
And anyway ... we all are here for the epic story, not the romance! Right? I was fine with my characters romancing no one in BG2, NWN2 and DA2. It doesn't hurt that much actually. The main plot was still interesting.
(FYI, eng. is not my native l., thus the mistakes I'm sure I've made)

That's hardly a bombshell and it's not all Lady Inquisitors that people say that about, just hetero ones.
They get 2 more options than everyone else. Both heavily restricted, but that's still two more regardless.

No, of course not! Women are women. (But the sad truth is that majority wins over minority.)
I myself was naively planing to romance Cass with my F-quisitor (I do admire strong women). Then they revealed that Cassy is straight and broke my little fangirl heart. Such is live.

Straight women get more options, at that.
Yes, yes, lets attack the straight women. Bravo, lets blame them for getting something good for once, instead of being happy for them. Because apparently, only gay people, can be marginalised and straight people can't.
Well, I guess I was just concerned that folks are resenting straight female gamers.
Eh, some people blame straight female gamers for having their privilege taken away. Others blame straight females for having straight privilege, think of it like being piggy in the middle.
Damn'd if you do; damned if you don't.

Pointing out that straight women get more options is attacking them? Really?
Something good for once? Please explain that. Straight women get as much as or more than gay men and lesbian women in every Bioware game ever. To say that this is the first time they've gotten anything good seems extremely exaggerated.

Ah, right, because straight women haven't consistently had more options than we, in virtually every game involving romance at all.
This isn't a matter of blaming the fanbase, but of recognizing that saying that "women" have more options is badly misleading.

Tbh playing as a straight woman Shepard I didn't feel like Mass Effect did so well in the romance department. I feared that it would happen in DA:I and I'm pleasantly surprised that that f!Inquisitor is getting more options.

It's more that the release delay gave them some extra time to spend on things, and instead of sitting on their thumbs the writing team went "okay, who does the internet say they want as love interests? Right, Cullen and Solas. On it."
A shame they didn't spend some of that time to make a dwarf love interest though.

When it constantly happens a lot, it's hard not to think that when every time someone points it out, that they are doing it in a negative manner.

That seems more a criticism of Bioware than straight women in general. Bioware ultimately had the reins, I didn't see anyone arguing for straight women to have more options before it was revealed that they would (which was just recently).
