Well, even if you are a non human or elven female, you still have more romances than I do as I would rather kill Cassandra or even not play the game than ever romance that... person.  Which leaves me with gay options (not interested) or a non squadmate (meh).  I'll trade a race gated female dwarf for any other character in the game.

This is factually incorrect.  You have options.  You don't like your options, but you have them.  It is false to state that you have less options than a non-human or elven female.

I'd love it if Biowar makes a type of visual novel for mobile and PC.

I'm surprised that they haven't, it would bring in so much revenue. Right now the biggest player in the western market for VN is ntt solmare and they make thousands in micro transactions on their 'free' versions.

I really wanted Varric as an option, but I can't say I'm at all surprised he's not. Especially given that Cullen was one of the additional romance, it's clear that BW don't make LI choices solely based on popularity of a character. Whatever your feelings on Cullen, you have to agree he has quite the following on BSN at least.

True enough.

I disagree. I see no reason why the LIs of a future Dragon Age game could not all be straight males. It's time for women to have their day.

Fortunately all women want straight males, so that works out perfectly.

Well, no. Dwarves and qunari have objectively less romance options available to them. Whether this a problem is all up to you though.

Straight Female dwarves, straight female qunari, all lesbians, all straight guys, and all gay guys have the same amount of options, which is one less than straight female humans and two less than straight female elves.

The poster that I was responding to was claiming that because he didn't like Cassandra, he had 'less options' than everyone else.....

On one hand, I'm ONTO BIOWARE'S INSIDIOUS PLAN TO MAKE ME ROLL A FEMALE ELF EARLY ON AND IT'S NOT GOING TO WORK DO YOU HEAR ME.

On the other hand, I'm kind of glad I can't romance Solas as a dwarf. Because I'm pretty sure it'd go like this.

"Yes, I spend most of my time wandering the fade. It's quite beautiful, slipping through the layers of history, exploring what was forgotten and now can be found. There's dangers, of course, magnified by the crystalline uncertainty of everything around you. Sometimes I would like company..."

"Yeah, dwarves don't do that."

For some, the idea that different people care about different things can be a devilishly difficult concept to wrap one's head around. It's not their fault really, we are all born with different gifts.

What I'm more interested in seeing is if we'll finally get romances that deviate from the archetypes established in the previous games.

The cute innocent romance with a dark secret: Leliana, Merril.

The cruel and seemingly mean romance whose actually quite sensible : Morrigan, Fenris.

The promiscuous rogue with a heart of gold : Zevran, Isabela.

The blond trying to do what's right: Alistair, Anders.

For some reason, I object to the word 'favouritism' being thrown around. As in; this game favours one demographic at the expense of another. The reason I object to it is, as an aspiring game developer myself, is that it is just a moronic decision to make in the sense of actively sabotaging oneself. I strongly doubt for example that they drew up a chart of potential LI's and then said to themselves: "wait, we've got more hetereosexual male romances than heterosexual female. Lets change this up." I'd like to give the benefit of the doubt and ascribe some sense of professional pride to the writers/designers who ask themselves what exactly are the motivations for these characters, why are they straight or not or bi and go from there.

how is the Iron Bull going to do a dwafven man/woman?

he would probably crushed them silly. He is said to be very big-sized and muscled and here's thinking he is proportional down there.

poor dwarfs would be sore for ages and probably not able to walk.

he should be race-specific.

I'm more worried of poor elf quizzys. Dwarves actually look pretty sturdy.

but they are much shorter.

i imagined 1/4 the size of Qunaris. Most elves are around human height and I imagine humans are around 2/3 the size of Qunaris.

Well, for all the romances straight women get, as long as I have Dorian and he's written really well (no doubts, since Gaider's writing him)...

Actually, humans have rather large penises for their body size, relative to most other animals. Gorillas, for instance, are actually quite small. There's no guarantee that qunari would be a threat there.

If Iron Bull had also been racegated, my Cadash would've just chucked herself out of an Orlesian castle window.
