Or are we still don't get them? I always hated use the normal bows. Too unspeical. Too common.

I find it amusing you consider the crossbow, an everyman's weapon if there ever was one, to be more "special" than a longbow that takes considerable strength and training to master.

I'm forever puzzled by people who say they prefered crossbows in DAO, because they were so severely underpowered in comparison to normal bows. Even with no Archery talents, my Warden rogue was still more lethal at range than Alistair, Sten and Oghren put together.

I hope so because bows need some variety too.

Same with spears. Most common weapon in the medieval time but there is none to find in Dragon Age. Which is especially funny when fighting huge monsters.

The qunari have spears. And some of the mage staffs in DA2 look suspiciously like spears as well.
