And I think Anders is one of the most interesting characters in the franchise solely because of all the rage he inspires from me and everyone else.

Anders is...special and I do swear, it's hard forgetting him after shouting "GOD DAMN IT, ANDERS" at the screen.

Just from the general attitude I've seen of the companions, I'll put my bet on Vivienne.

How to "save" Anders whether the player wants it or not: no matter what you decided with the murder knife, Anders lived. If you "stabbed" him then, you really faked it. All you ever saw in the cut scene was Anders' face while it was happening, so who knows what you really did to him?

That way, if Anders is important, he's there no matter what the player decided, just like Leliana.

As for the betrayal, I'll be upset if it's Varric. I like him, and it would be a little like a bad rerun if they decide he gets to pull an Anders.

Well, I hate Cullen for being a **** to my female mage Warden. First you have a crush on her and then you treat her like crap, then you're in love with her again, and now you're over her? I WANT YOU TO SPEND THE REST OF YOUR MISERABLE LIFE WALLOWING IN REGRET LIKE THE VERMIN YOU ARE!!!!

Once I choose to hold a grudge, I HOLD it.

I think Cullen will be despised the most out of all characters. Due to his past. Him being a fan favorite. A templar. Good looking and maybe still have some social awkwardness

I may be a bit biased, but I really don't think it's Vivenne just because it's to damn obvious.

I'm going into this expecting Cullen and Vivienne to ****** me off. Maybe some of the others, but I'm not entirely sure about them. So uh ya.

I am ok with them pulling a Leliana with Anders that way I can have him quartered and deliver some justice of my own.

4 Horses + Anders +Rope=good times ;)

I hate Leliana, her very existence offends my fine Tevinter senses. So there ya go, the charact er that ticks me off anyways. Would love to publicly crucify her for all in the inquisition to witness. Where is your maker now wench? Surely he will save you for being so faithful...no? Hah! Thats right he cant! He doesnt exist. Die slowly scum. Dumat laughs at your pain.

He's also posed like Judas in that shot of the Inquisition mimicking The Last Supper.

You know, I keep forgetting that Varric is in the party again. But it would be incredibly entertaining if he turned on us - minus his friendship with Hawke, he's not the most trustworthy guy.

To quote his VA, "Varric is for sale." There are little flickers of it in DA2, but it's masked by his storytelling and his loyalty toward Hawke.

Somehow I don't think he'd be as friendly toward a large, powerful organization as he is toward smugglers and mercenaries.

If there is going to be a turncoat, Varric would also be the perfect choice. A turncoat shouldn't be someone that the entire fanbase sees coming a mile away, or who is mostly unlikeable prior to stabbing the Inquisitor in the back.

Based on description alone I disliked vivienne. But after seeing that bioware sketch with her VA I may like her. Perhaps her haughtiness can be played for laughs....we'll see.

I'm remarkably calm when it comes to companions, I guess. They may make my characters mad, but as a player, I don't really get angry.

Alistair pissed me off when he decided he'd rather go off and be a drunk than let Loghain live and serve in the Wardens....like, I don't think I've ever felt more disappointed in a character before, including Anders. But that level of human complexity to him is what makes me love him so much.

Right now I have a hard time believing that I'll get super mad at anyone in the party....people do seem to have competing allegiances, but that makes them super sympathetic to me....basically I guess I'll be the pushover Inquisitor. "Oh man, Iron Bull....I get why you had to sell me out the Qun...must be hard to be torn between so many alliances...no, no, bro, don't worry about. Hugs?"

I don't think Vivienne is going to be a betrayer. My guess is people are going to like her a lot more when they actually meet her, too. Or my hope, lmao.

My guess is either on Cassandra, Varric, or Iron Bull.

I know there are actually characters that they deliberately make for us to hate. However, I really think it just depends on who's playing and how they're playing it.

For example, I think it was stated that Morrigan was supposed to be disliked? (I could be wrong, going off of a very bad memory recollection, so spare me. lol Maybe it was Sten? Can't remember. Sorry!)
However, I personally liked Morrigan.
I've played a few characters who hated her though, some who ditched her at Lothering, others didn't trust her, some just saw her as a friend, and also had some fall for her.

That being said, I'm not a fan of Leliana. As far as I'm aware though, the majority who have played do.
My Warden, Aragon Aeducan, absolutely loved her though and made it easy for me to "love" her too.

I'm not going into Inquisition "hating" Leliana. I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt right now, but we'll see. :)

The way they said it was that they would make players angry by saying unbelievable things. That's why I thought it was likely Dorian. I suppose it could also be Iron Bull, but Sten wasn't really all that hated and I'd be surprised if he said anything more outrageous than he did. Dorian could still have an attitude where he tells the Inquisitors or others it was still a net positive that they enslaved your ancestors.

Morrgian was definitely not written to be disliked. I mean, I don't have any authorial quotes to back that up, but I can't see how anyone could play through her path all the way (I'm assuming all of them, but I did female friendship) and think she was meant to be hated. She's a complex character who doesnt give every player the best first impression--but that's the best kind of character!

I don't think Sten either. He's not meant to be particularly relatable, but he's likable in his own way.

I actually doubt they wrote any characters as meant to be disliked, unless you mean that they wrote characters so that there would be reasons for different people to like or dislike them. Then, yes! I think they do a good job of making a diversity of characters for people to react to.

....I mean companions, obviously its hard to find Howe or Vaughn apologists.

for DA:I,...well, with Sera...the devs have said that her entrance is polarizing, right? I could see her as a love her or hate her character. (I'm gonna love her  )

True! But......their loss, tbh.

I'd rather have layered characters that I learn more about as time goes on than frontend everything interesting about them so that people "get" who they are right away. It makes it annoying in fandom sometimes, for sure, but my game experience was better for it.

Basically I like "difficult" characters and it's all about me, so. More please, Bioware. ;)

Hmm and peoples claim there shouldn't be unnecessary cruel actions in rpg games because that would be unrealistic when peoples themselves come up with such ideas.  ;)

On topic i guess there will be situations like with leliana when character do whatever they want and we can't do nothing about my bet on cassandra as we probably won't be able kick her as she will have plot armor another option is one or all of advisors because as far they will have probably plot armor as well.

Definitely! I 100% agree :D
I love how these games make me love and hate each character at the same time. It makes them feel more realistic to me. :3

I hope it's not Josephine. She's far and away the most attractive female LI, or at least she's the one I find far-and-away the most attractive.

I don't think Bioware writes non-villain characters simply to ****** off players.  Even Anders was clearly written as a tragic figure, not as someone for players to direct their scorn at.
