A spell stunt, Mighty Spell, adds 1d6 damage to the roll... but what if it's a heal spell? Would it be possible to use Mighty Spell to heal more damage than might otherwise be possible?

Again, this is open for a vote.

In my opinion, it should. Why can't a spell be more effective if the stunt points are there? And the very name of the stunt seems to imply that's the case. So, I'd be all in favor of allowing it, but I want to hear what the rest of you think.

I think healers should get the same chances to show off that the rest of us get. (Also, I play a character with a fair amount of hit points. Extra healing is always good. :D )

I was actually convinced that it should work both way: damage and healing spells. If a weapon is able to have more effect than usual, either by putting more strenght into it, or just finding a soft spot, so should spells. The difference with spells vs weapons is that they can also be beneficial, but that's not really important, imo.

TBH, I hadn't really considered it from that angle. I was just looking at and thinking that offensive spells get Mighty Spell to augment their effectiveness, but there isn't a counterpart for buffs. This seems logical.

But yeah, I don't know if anybody would really complain if they got more health back.

Selfishly I'd prefer for it to be so, because Tempest is primarily a healer so that would make the stunt much more likely to actually be useful for me.

I also think it would make sense RP-wise and would benefit the party as a whole. :)

Yeah, I'm going to be giving all of the stunts a look over to see if there are clarifications or improvements that need making. Some, like Knock Prone, we've talked to death. I'm not really sure that KP is worth 2 stunt points, but dunno.

That might be a good idea indeed :) I think some are actually a bit unclear or open for multiple interpretations.

That's the problem with the ruleset overall. Everything is so fricking ambiguous.

In a similar vein, what are we going to do about heal action stunt points? Yes, we decided that heal spells with stunt points can heal extra damage because of them. How about non-magical healing, though?

Hmm, perhaps a bit farfetched? Of course you can do something 'extra good', but I would think it makes more sense to consider it a crit. SP can make you do more actions (reload, hit another target), whilst this is more a regular action.

So's backstab. Rogues don't get *more* actions due to stealth, but the action they make counts for more. Just saying.

Stunt points are used regularly in both combat and in spell casting to do more damage. Using Mighty Spell increases the damage restored by Heal by 1d6. It costs 2SP. Mighty Blow adds 1d6 damage. It costs 2SP. Both of these are enhancements of regular actions, so it seems to be a similar situation.

Yes, if it is done like: SP = +1d6 healing. That is what I mean with 'like a crit'. Not that one can knock someone prone via bandage skills.

Well, that depends. Maybe as a fumble...

OK, I'll shut up now. :)

I would think it would enhance the action by 1d6 similar to everything else? :)

Yeah, for 2SP, you get 1d6. I'm also thinking about letting mages apply their magic bonus to every die of Heal spell. Because it's STUPID that they don't. I mean, healing by a more powerful practitioner would have to be better, right?

Or maybe just apply it once per spell. That might encourage people to use heal in smaller doses.

That seems logical to me. :)

I feel like applying it to each die would be a little overpowered, though, so I would lean toward once per spell.

Once per spell sounds logical indeed :)

I'll agree with once per spell. Unless Tessa REALLY needs a heal.

*cough*

Ok, just once per spell then. :)

Bear in mind though that if our mages get it, so do the enemy mages, so it could make things worse for Tessa on balance if it became too powerful. ;)

Fine, fine. Not that anyone asked for your facts and logic, Hannah. :D
