You're right, Zazikel was referred to as female in World of Thedas, it's been marked a typo.

Understandable. Rest of the post was pretty sound, I'll admit.

So says the chantry. But in all likelihood i find it more convincing that ahe is a fantasy cross between Joan of Arc and Boudicca. Like both she fought the power and paid the price. Only hate of Tevinter and political weakness on Hessarian's part saw her legend blossom.

where does Boudicca tie into this?

She's Joan renamed and born in fantasy!England instead of fantasy!France

Boudicca united a barbarian horde against Rome. Tevinter is the Thedan version of the Imperium Romanum. She was a Ferelden, which is a parallel to the British culture of the time.

Why do you think Hessarian was politically weak?

How is she Divine? the only thing special about her while she was alive is that the maker supposedly spoke to her. and she later became his wife once she died.

Other than that, she is just a military leader and prophet of a cult.

And there is proof of something special about her after she is dead since lyrium grows next to her ashes, spirits roam her tomb, and her ashes do give healing effects. which can't be denied.

Hessarian only converted to Andrastrianism to garner support against the lower and slave caste which helped shore up his fading grip on power. His own wife Vasilia had no respect for him.

the fact that Andraste's religion stayed after Hessarian died undermines your argument

Do you have any evidence for these claims?

Britannia was already independent from France during this time. Whereas in Andraste's time, !FantasyFrance didn't even exist.

Why is proof and evidence being called for? This is speculation, almost everything in the history of Thedas is speculation as we are not the writers. It's like asking for evidence in those elf vs. orlais/chantry threads.

Hessarian's wife wanted Andraste executed, Hessarian went with it, but then went for mercy killing instead. I would also think that his wife didn't approve of his weakness, although we don't know what happens to her when Hessarian decides to go genocidal on the Old God priests.

I usually like to play as an Andrastian in game, I think it is more fun, so I don't see a problem with Hessarian being sincere. Why not? I try to not always being a cynic when looking at fantasy history and real history, some people do change for the better and not always for the purpose of power, even if power does come about from the change.

Arguing with Denerim being fantasy rome or fantasy England is silly, she was born in Fantasy Roman Occupied Britain obviously.

Because if you went me to believe something you should provide reason. It's possible the Big Bad is one of Varric's socks he lost under the bed with deluions of grandeur, if you want me to believe that I need a reason. It's the same requirements I have if you want me to believe something about reality.

And his wife being pissed at him doesn't mean he had lost most of his political support.

just thought i should say at the time of buddica Britannia and Gual were both under the thumb of rome. And Buddica united the Celtic and pict tribes together to attack York which is pretty much what Andraste did.

She is probably just a composite character of Joan and Buddica.

Not jesus who was more into peace instead of conquest.

I should note that Britannia is the latin name for Britain. and was given the name under its occupation.

EDIT: Also i should also say i believe David Gaider in an interview (i think the one with Lady Instanity) said that Andraste was inspired by Joan and Buddica.

I have, and theories are sent forth to be examined, I'm examining, and I find your largest fault to be a lack of evidentiary support. You say what if, I'm just asking why I should give this theory any special attention.
