Vanguard for the first play-through (it's my paragon character, if I do renegade first I'll never want to try paragon) and for my second play-through Sentinel.

Same here.  My first playthrough of ME was with an engineer and it was by far my most favorite playthrough... though with a femshep as it will be in ME2 as well.  It's a very underestimated and underappreciated class IMO.

Soldier. Baddest ass character around, especially when teamed up with an Adept. They complete eachother, if I do say so myself.

I will play adept, played vanguard in ME1 but now the adepts are the biotic warriors and vanguards are soldiers with some biotic skills

Vanguard. gotta love charge and shockwave. plus it looks like something that really fits my playt style from other shooter games, where I like to play reckless and usually get very high on both kills and deaths

My "default" Commander John Shepard (Soldier, Earthborn, Sole Survivor). I just like playing characters how the developer sets them as (name, appearance, abilities, w/e). Seems more canon.

For Mass Effect 1 my first playthrough was soldier. Mass Effect 2 I'm going for Sentinal because of the powers of both Biotic and tech plus a bit of soldier. I'm soooo glad mass effect 2 allows you change those classes and perks before full on gameplay. Thank you Lazarus!

 My first playthrough I will probably play as a Soldier. Second time, Vanguard. Third playthrough...probably Infiltrator.
