the Rivain Chantry and nationalist forces, unable to convert its people back to the worship of the Maker, tried a purge by the sword, slaughtering countless unarmed people and burying them in mass graves.

Alrightie then.

Again however entirely their fault.

Hey, at least I have morality to prevent me from killing unarmed people, which the chantry did in this situation.

And what that morality gives you? Peoples in charge does such stuff all time when peoples become inconvenient.

Seriously how is it the same people who fault Templars for ignoring the law, find nothing wrong with Qunari doing the same.

Ever hear of the concept of an unjust law?

So you think that you wouldn't have said "screw you" to people that were forcing you from your own home? I know I would fight like hell before anyone forced me from my home that I have been in for generations

There are no qunari non-combatants, Sten will admit as much. And the ultimate purpose of their ideology is the destruction of every culture and subjugation of every person. All qunari within Thedosian lands are spies and invaders.

If those rivaini wished to be qunari, then they should have moved to qunari land. If they refuse, they they must be removed by force. If, for some reason, that possibility is out of the question, then by all means, kill them.

With whom did the converts of Kirkwall stand when the Arishok decided to conquer?

With the Viscount? The City Guard? Their fellow citizens? Everything they had known their entire lives?

No, they followed the orders of the Arishok who had been there for only four years.

All qunari are a threat.

Those converts suddenly decided that they no longer wished to be part of Rivain society or to obey its laws and its king. Rather, they decided to obey the Antaam instead, efectivelly carving out a piece of Rivaine land and giving it to hostile foreigners.

The converts are mostly elves and let's face it, they have far from an easy life in any human town or city.

And you think if your goverment would think you are dangerous they would sit and do nothing because you are civilian?Don't worry they would deal with you quickly and quietly.

Goverments still do that but unilke dictators they do that quietly.

Not so much in America since you know we have a bill of rights and all that good stuff. But I am not naive in thinking they do abuse that type of stuff.

Most governments put you in secret jails and torture you for information, before killing you.

There will always be discontents amidst any population, both elven and human. While one could reasonably argue society's failings help create these wretches, it is inevitable for no society is perfect.

However, that doesn't change the fact that by becoming qunari, these discontents become soldiers to a foreign power intent on subjugating all life.

Do you think those convert in Rivain would have hesitated to attack Rivain were it ordered by the Arishok?

Humans that agreed to leave the Qunari alone.
Note: Putting every man, woman, and child to the sword is generally agreed to not qualify as 'leaving alone'

Just for reference, political discussion isn't allowed on BSN (or it gets shut down in almost every case.).

That didn't mean much when the Cold War was going on.

No, given my multiple references to Rivain, I was clearly talking about the incidents right after the wars.

And you think that goverments care about laws? They want to population follow laws pretty much same like with blood magic and templars.

Most governments put you in secret jails and torture you for information, before killing you.

The qunari had not retreated to the piece of land alloted to them. Therefore, they were in violation of the treaty and thus continued hostilities against which Rivain had a right to defend itself.
