I was intending a 40 year old senior enchanter type but I'm tempted to go for a younger Rogue that's a bit of a Cougar Hunter (Cass
)
I also, so far, prefer Alix Wilton Regan's voice acting so I'm a little tempted to star as my Qunari Mage first.

I've become conflicted over a female Qunari mage or a male elf mage for my 1st playthrough.
However, I'm leaning towards tradition (If I have the choice, my primary canon pc is always male, elven, and a mage).
That said, I was thinking of having 4 games happening at once with me trading off to play one world per week.

Male human mage. Most likely a Rift Mage or possibly a Knight Enchanter. Not sure yet.

Deciding what to play as doesn't seem too hard. I was torn between Qunari female mage and an Elf one, but since it's the first time we can play as a Qunari I decided on that. After I figure out the rest, future play runs are easily decided. My next three I try to pick an Elf, Dwarf and Human and switch between male and female every time. Class is the only tricky part.

I like to min/max, so I'm going to pick a race/class combo that is most efficient. Apart from the racial bonuses posted on the DAI website, does anyone know if each race will get different base stats like in DAO?

This was the first game in the DA series that I hadn't thought about playing as a rogue though...that's usually my first choice.
I was all set for a Qunari female mage...but i've always had love for elves. On top of that...i'm starting to remember my dwarf commoner rogue. She was the only character that went through all dlc's in Origins. I miss that sound she made when she landed a critical hit.
So safe to say right now, I has confuse.

Why not play both?I am not making a choice until i see the game and the options that are available.
I am doing both. I just don't know which to do first.

I was conflicted for a long time, but at this point the only thing I'm undecided on is Reaver or Templar... but that's something I can figure out once I get my hands on the game (or at least the specialization skill trees).

I'm all set with my first Inquisitor.
Middle aged elf. Gender is dependant upon my skill in the character creator. Rift mage. Nuetral good maybe.

Number 2, however, is a war.
Too many stories. Too many choices! *kersplode!*

Second: Qunari Male Warrior
Third: Human Male Warrior
Fourth: Qunari Male Mage

Male Elf Archer Rogue. Still deciding between Artificer and Tempest.

First: Female Qunari rift mage.
Second: Male Qunari reaver.
Third: Female Qunari knight enchanter
Fourth: Female Elf assassin (dual-wielding)
Anything past that? Completely up in the air.

Female elf mage. I've wanted to play a Dalish mage since I first played Origins.

My head canon race is always female human (even though I'm male), I just didn't know which class I wanted to be since I don't like being a rouge it was between a warrior or a mage, but when Sera was confirmed not to be race gated I decided on warrior mostly case I want to see the dynamic in a human noble romancing a rouge elf who hates nobles lol

Probably an elven mage for now.

I'm going with the Qunari as my first playthrough purely for exploring the new available race.
My second or third playthroughs may feature human/elven inquisitors, but this first one will definitely be a qunari

My first/main inquisitor will now be a female elf mage, but I originally desperately wanted to make a fem qunari. With the news that Cullen is race-gated, I changed it to elf because I wanted Cullen to be the LI for my primary world state (my main warden is a mage and I wanted that bit of history for my headcanons so...).
It's what I'll play next that is the big decision for me. I really want to play female qunari, but I also want to romance Dorian asap. They're both mutually exclusive...so Idk I'll see I guess.
I JUST finished an Origins play through with a female elf Mage that flirted with Cullen and romances no one else so that in my head she becomes the Inquisitor after fighting in the Mage/Templar war. An the moment he sees Cullen she's going to brighten up but still be very conflicted because she's always lived him, but realizes now that he could still be an enemy or hate her for what she is.

Very interesting. I assume this is an Origins only playthrough with the headcanon that won't be imported to DAI but where the events of DAi still happen? Because I imagine otherwise the headcanon won't hold as the inquisitors backgrounds are set as well as the fact that the inquisitor might meet the warden.
Speaking of this, I sometimes wish Dragon Age had a same protagonist across all games like in ME. It could have been a lot of fun.

I know what you mean but ME was always planned as. A trilogy where DA was intended to have a much wider arc set in the same universe.Very interesting. Think a solo protag works well in 3 stories but runs increasing risk of running out of steam after that. Indivudual stories linked by the world in which they happen losens the narrative a little and lets not forget, allows players to mix up race/sex/class combos each time.
