Ok guys i just looked at Dragon Age 3 on IMDB just to see who was going to voice who in the game. Then I noticed that a good chunk of actors that were in ME3 are in DA I. Not joking; Freddie Prince, Jennifer Hale, Claudia Black(I know she was Morrigan first), and even Mark Meer. There might be more but that's all I saw on IMDB for now.

I'm not saying they're bad actors; in fact I love most of the work they do. I'm just saying its pretty funny when you think about it. I was confused when I saw that Freddie Prince was the voice of 'iron bull'. Did not see that coming. And Jennifer and Mark are only listed as additional characters but I have a feeling they might be the voices of 'our wardens'.

Not saying they are but it would be cool if it was true. I just thought it was funny because they worked together before and now they're back for another game. Anyway what do you guys think about it?

Mark Meer has done voices for the last two DA games and a lot of the DLC.

I forgot about that but thanks for adding it to the pile. I'm just sad we haven't seen him in more stuff though.

Bioware tends to use a lot of the same voice actors for their games. This isn't unique to DA:I, in fact some of the voice actors from prior Mass Effect and Dragon Age games have been doing work with the company since Baldur's Gate, Mark Meer and Jennifer Hale included.

It makes sense when you think about it. If an actor turns out quality work, isn't a royal pain-in-the-ass, and doesn't have scheduling conflicts...why not bring them back for different characters in different titles?

I like that Bioware goes that route. I've become fans of some of the voice actors Bioware has used, so I'm always happy when I hear that they've been cast in another game.

I actually love that they share some VAs between their games, it does a lot to get me excited for a character. That said, new VAs are good for variety sake and I'm excited to see how all the newbie VAs (some of whom I've never heard or seen their work) will do in DAI.

Oh I didn't even think that our Warden could be played by our Shepards :P That actually would make sense, I hope it'll be so :)

I will really be surprised if our Warden Commander makes a return. Part of the reason I say this is because he/she didn't have a voice. It might be a more compelling idea to just leave him/her the traditional "silent protagonist" that just gets the job done. We'll see though. Anything is possible, although I don't believe BioWare will focus too much time on returning to heroes from the previous games. At best the Warden and Hawke might have minor roles. At worst, they'll just be cameos who pop in to say hi.

Meer and Hale could work for Elf or Dwarf PCs.

Couslands or Human Mage Wardens would need a British VA though.

Really don't like the idea of Meer and Hale as the Warden, tbh. It'd make me feel like they exist to be a Mass Effect reference at that point. I'd rather they got someone else.

...plus, I just really don't think Hale fits my Warden. Which is a whole new can of worms on the problems of the Warden cameo, but...

Jennifer Hale is a very versatile and quite prolific voice actress, I'm not surprised she is working on DAI as she seems to be able to turn her hand to a lot of different stuff

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0354937/

Sad to say I'm comfortably old enough to remember her first as Jessie in Johnny Quest

Same. I also remember her as Felicia Hardy/Black Cat on the mid-nineties Spider-Man series.

Yes, there are plenty of common voice actors. Both femQuisitors for example: Alix Wilton Regan was Samantha Traynor in ME3 (as well as characters in DAO and DA2 - including Ser Cauthrien). Sumalee Montano was Nyreen Kandros in ME:Omega.

Sumalee Montano's BioWare credits actually goes back to KOTOR - she voiced Lashowe, one of the Sith cadets on Korriban.

Most of the Mass effect and DAO cast is also in Star Wars Knight of the Old repblc online which is made by Bioware . (was shocked hearing Duncan as a Master Jedi lol ) .

I for one..totally hopeless in love with Hale voice  if she come back and want to voice my F!Warden I be more then happy , I think it would fit .

The way Jennifer Hale spoke about her role made me think she was voicing either Celene or Briala, (probably Briala).

I am most interested in finding out who Gwendoline Christie is playing. She's awesome.

It's not surprising at all for the dev team to prefer voices they already know will work and with people they have worked with in the past. All those actors have a wide range of voices they can do, so it's not like Skyrim where you hear the same guy over and OVER again (without them even trying to show variety in their voice. Jeez).

That's who I'd want to voice FemWArden. At least Cousland and Amell.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldeu (Jaime Lannister) would make a good male Cousland/Amell even if his accent sometimes slips into Danish at points.

I didn't post everything they have performed in, just examples of some of the DA/ME related stuff.

There is Jo Wyatt who voiced femHawke from DA2 and Dr. Brynn Cole from ME3

I've noticed that actors that tend to get major roles in ME tend to minor ones in DA, and vice versa.  Though I notice Alix Wilton Regan getting high billing in both - no complaints as she's pretty awesome :)

Mark Meer has played a number of minor roles in DA.  Canadians who listen to our public radio actually know him as a sketch-comedian (he's co-creator of one of the major comedy shows) and I think he tends to shine in comedy.  His five minutes as Jethann the Elven prostitute are hilarious, and my favourite moments with him in ME were the comic ones (especially in Citadel).  For more serious scenes I preferred Jennifer Hale for Shepard.

I liked his campy delivery of the pride demon hubris in DA2 as well :)

I don't think Jennifer Hale has been in DA yet...?  Or have I missed something...?

Sad to see so few of the companions from DAO or DA2 are on the list.  The Devs suggested Gideon Emery might be back in a non-Fenris role.  Jon Curry isn't going to be back as Zevran (but he can be an Inquisitor).  Anders' voice actor was also not called.  It looks like Alistair, Leliana, and Morrigan only so far.  Not that they aren't awesome, but I was kind of hoping for an ME3-style parade of previous companions :(

As long as they don't use their Shepard voice I don't really care. Meer and hale both have range in voice acting so I have no worries

I was wanting that too. I'm sad that Zevran isn't appearing especially, him and Fenris were my favourite LIs. But they did say they were wanting to go beyond DA I so maybe they'll show up in the next games?
