Vivienne and Dorian are never leaving my Inquisitors side because no one else is on their level of swagger and my Inquisitor can appreciate that. I think I'l have more trouble with Dorian than Vivienne as my Inquisitor fully supports the circle system.

I think it's kind of unstated that most of us intend to befriend every single companion, even those who vehemently disagree with each other or should disagree with the inquisitor too, by just making sure they don't see that side of the inquisitor. It just feels like you didn't win if you don't get every companion wrapped around your fingers by any metagaming means necessary.
And welcome to the forums.

I quake when I see romance in a thread title, but this topic seems to nice and fuzzy. I hope I can befriend everyone like I did in previous games, but since approval seems to be based more on actions this time that might be hard. I think I look forward to being friends with Cassandra and Vivienne the most. I loved Morrigan's friendship path when she compared the female Warden to a sister, and Cass and Viv seem like they would both have to warm up to the Inquisitor in a similar way, though I think the overall tone would be different between the women. I also look forward to befriending Cole and seeing how he's fared and changed since Asunder.

My personal favorite bioware relationship arc, and why I was curious as to how other players viewed the importance of platonic wooing!

I'm actually really interested in the relationship between the Inquisitor and Cassandra. Not just only as a romance option for straight males, but also just because of their initial history. At least from what the trailers suggests, Cassandra and the Inquisitor meet under less-than-ideal circumstances (Cassandra has her blade at the Inquisitor's throat). I'm curious to really see the first ten minutes of the game to understand how they go from this relationship of almost being enemies to a place where the Inquisitor is the leader and Cassandra is his second in command. Varric of course is always fun to have around. I wonder how many stories he will tell of the Champion.

Personally, Dorian seems like the most likely bff candidate for my mage inquistor. I think she'll really respect his views on Tevinter, while simultaneously being slightly jealous of the opportunities he had that she didn't.
You are practically taking words out of my mouth
I think that my human mage female Inquisitor will be very curious about Tevinter and Dorian's background, his study, his relationships with other mages, etc. I also intend her to be sort of Hawke admirer, so she will spend a lot of time with Varric, listening to his stories.
My qunari fem mage will befriend Cole and Sera, viewing them as sort of younger siblings figures... Even though she's going to be irresponsible and light-headed herself. I also imagine she will respect Blackwall and he'll help her not to get into trouble with her hotheadedness.
My elf fem mage will be as diplomatic as my Hawke could never be (can't help myself, the sarcastic responses are too tempting not to pick). But I think she'll be on good terms with Cassandra (she's a human from a noble background, who chose to be a warrior, and is loyal to the Inquisition and the Chantry - these things will interest my open-minded Dalish).

I'll try to befriend them all!
Everyone must love my Inquisitor!
Seriously , I think it depends on the character I'm playing ...overall I think Varric is a safe bet.
He's a good guy , he's funny , loyal.
I'd say my first Inquisitor BFF might be Varric or Blackwall .Solas could also be on the list , since he's an elf , and my Dalish Inquisitor will be more confortable among elves at first.
But Solas is not Dalish and he's a mage frolicking in the fade.It might be a problem.
For my female human mage ...Well Varric again .And then probably Solas.Dorian is also a possibility , if I can troll him from time to time , and he's cool about it.
But I'm probably going to end up being surprised ^^ and end up being BFF with Cassandra or something.

I'm anxious to befriend good ol' Varric, and Bull, Sera, and Dorian (when I'm not romancing them). I'm really hoping to befriend everyone actually, but can see myself having a harder time with certain characters depending on the personality of my own character.

I'll wait and see. I expect to get on well with Varric (again), the others I don't know enough about to make more than a hazarded guess, but I'm expecting to have issues with the restore the status quo types, I'm usually a break the circle free the mages protagonist.

My different quizzys will befriend different characters I believe.
Skye (mage qunari): He's very friendly so he'll befriend most of his companions. I think he will have lot to talk with Solas and Dorian. He's intrested of magic and those two bring fresh views of it to him. Also so far they sound easy to get along with. I think he will also be close with Cole and will feel protective towards him. Sera and Varric probaply get well along with him as well.
Michal (warrior human): BW and Cass will have her admiration but I think Varric would be one she gets best along with. She will have prejudice towards mages (except Vivi), spirits and qunari so I can't see her easily getting along with those companions. Sera won't probaply get along with her either since she's noble.
Valpur (warrior qunari): Friendships are hard for her but I think she'll get along with Varric, Solas, Cole and BW. She likes everyone she can relax around and who aren't too fanatic about their opinions.
Tamarin (rogue elf): He's very hard to get along with so I doubt many companions will have friendship with him. I'd imagine Iron Bull and Varric to be quite tolerant so they might be closest (along with Dorian who is his LI).

I'm interested how my Vashoth Inquisitor's interactions with Iron Bull will go. They'll have very similar personalities and lifestyles, but the only real thing standing between him and her would be their wildly different viewpoints on the Qun.
Wonder if there'll be a 'never discuss politics with friends...' agreement in this case, but I imagine it comes up somewhere...

Cole I want to smother like he is my younger brother (I wanted to do the same to Carver and Bethany but didn't really get the options to..maybe this time)
But Damn Viv and Dorian are both going to be awesome magefriends
and Varric remains excellent of course
Sera and Iron Bull both seem great and like a barrel of laughs
And blackwall will be a wonderful mentor with a sense of humor (I assume)
oh Cassandra...she's just perfect
And Solas is into the fade and damn I want to find out about that and he sounds like a nerd and I'm betting it'll be super fun talking to him
So all of them

I am very excited about being (or trying to be) friends with Solas, Cass, and Viv. I mean, all of them, but those three especially.
I agree Morrigan & FWarden's friendship is one of the best Bioware relationships. I think Isabela's Friendmance is pretty great too (as well as her romance). I hope to find another awesome lady bff for my lady dwarf.

For purely platonic friendships I'm looking forward to Varric and Cole the most. Varric because he's one of my favorite companions ever, and Cole because I really want to hug him and knit him warm hats.

I think Blackwall seems like a good bromance for my guy. He seems sturdy, grounded and my warrior values bravery, loyalty and commitment. No matter what has happened with the Grey Wardens he was man enough to gon through the joining and put his life on the line for the good of others he didn't know. That's my kind of guy.
Sadly with Cass being perma-party I doubt I'll get a chance to use him much.
Having said al that I'm really hoping Bioware suprise us and some companions don't fit into the moulds our limited knowledge about them seems to suggest they fit.

My party will be all guys-- Varric, Blackwall, & Dorian. Those are the 3 that interest me that I think I will probably befriend. Solas & Sera are maybes, the other 3 I have no interest in at all.
