Heh, same answer here as I give in the romance threads: I've no idea at this point.
Once we meet the characters in-game, then I'll have an answer, but right now I just don't know which ones will be friend material (or which ones will be annoying, or kill-worthy, or whatever)

Viv. Re-meeting Leli. Sera. Scribs. Cassie.
I might have a soft spot for Cole from a protective standpoint. Das it.

Well, I'm torn between having a male qunari mage or a female qunari mage. If its a male qunari mage then his best friend will be Iron Bull (and romance Dorian) preferably. If it's a Female Qunari Mage then my best friend will be Dorian (and romance Iron Bull) Either way I hope to be friends with about everyone except maybe Cassandra and Vivienne. We''ll see about them. My party will be Blackwall, Iron Bull, and Varric (or maybe Cole) So those and Dorian will be the main ones but I am very interested in befriending Sera and Solas as well and they could be almost or just as much my friend as the others.
As for Advisors? I'm not sure. I hope to be friends with all of them but I don't know. I hope that Cullen has changed his view on mages at least some and I hope Leliana isn't too anti-mage. I think I'll like Josephine though.

Cole will be my ducky. Vivienne and Dorian will be my Inquisitor's mean girl posse, saving the world with snarky putdowns. On Wednesdays, they will wear pink.

For my male inquisitors, I will bro-out with Cullen and Varric, enjoy time with Solas, have fun teasing Cassandra, and enjoy the company of Josephine and Leliana. Assuming Cass/Josie isn't my romance.
For FemQuistor, she'll sis-mance Cassandra. She will sis-mance her right in the...well, you can complete the joke.

My female qunquisitor is going to be best friends with Dorian and Iron Bull.
Vivienne will be the person she looks up to and respects the most -- it must be the horns.
Anyone that hurts Cole is in for some pain.
Of course I will make it a point to befriend everyone, but the above in particular are friendship-priorities.

First off, just like to say thanks to the OP for posting this topic. Ever since DA2 with Aveline and Varric, as well as Mass Effect 3 with Garrus, I've really become a huge fan of the bromance arcs that Bioware has done, and I feel this aspect of Bioware's stories definitely deserve as much attention as the actual romances in the game.
So for DAI, I'd have to say my most anticipated friendship arc with my Inquisitor has to be Blackwall, Sera, and Varric (with Dorian as honorable mention). I'm a goody-two-shoes at heart, so I always seem to gravitate towards the 'honorable' and 'heart of gold' type characters who fight for the common people.

Hard to say before I actually get to play the game and get to know the companions better. =/
On DA:O it was usually Alistair, for DAII it was Varric and for Mass Effect it was Garrus - "There's no shepard without Vakarian" was very true in my case, since he was my closest non-romance companion. ![]()
I suspect it might become Sera for DA:I, or Varric once more.

The friendship arcs are one of my favorite parts of the game! Definitely equally (if not more) important than the romances for me. Sheer volume, if nothing else. After all, you can have more than one close friend in a single runthrough, but LI's seem to expect monogamy... >_<First off, just like to say thanks to the OP for posting this topic. It seems most people either want to friendmance Varric again or cuddle Cole. Personally, I can't help but agree with a previous poster (Ophir147) that he may not be the same snarky dwarf my Hawke was besties with. I mean, first Bartrand then Anders? Dude's gotta have some issues.

One romance, multiple friends?
Why not multiple romances, one friend?
What about no romances, no friends, and the game ends with the Inquisitor softly weeping as he dies alone?

My elf fem mage will be as diplomatic as my Hawke could never be (can't help myself, the sarcastic responses are too tempting not to pick). But I think she'll be on good terms with Cassandra (she's a human from a noble background, who chose to be a warrior, and is loyal to the Inquisition and the Chantry - these things will interest my open-minded Dalish).
Yeah, I tried to play diplomatic or aggressive in DA2 but I could not do so. The sarcastic tone is too strong to resist and I end up going back to being the "Troll of Thedas" by the end of Act 1. ![]()
As for bromance, I'll try to be friends with everyone if I can, though I think with Cole, it'll probably be more of a mentor role towards him (I'm so encouraging his hijinks).
