Anyone else notice that the domain appears to have expired and thus gone dark? Anyone know if there is a plan to make a new one? Enquiring minds want to know. I am not around all that often anymore but I do like to drop into chat when I am around.

Yes, the domain name has expired, but the server is still working. Add "23.239.28.201 irc.nwn2source.net" to your hosts file or connect directly using the IP address. Also, anyone can set up a new domain name that'd resolve to that address.

Are you folks using the vault page irc client, or a standalone client. I am in without issue via standalone client (yChat), but get the error via the Vault page.

In the vault 'kiwi chat' client, I clicked on the little 'Server and network' line, and replaced  irc.nwn2source.net with 23.239.28.201 and then clicked 'connect'. Then it worked.

 

I think if the above change is implemented int he default chat settings, anyone should be able to connect again...

The issues needs to be resolved ASAP. I think a lot of the regulars are being shut out.

Except for Grani they were all there before and either used another chat program or know how to change the options of the vault chat to be able to connect. You must have logged in at a bad time, FP.

And who is that Crumasdflkjas guy? I've never seen him before.

And I'm sure Niv and Virusman were there. They are ALWAYS there. Just not always active.

I'll be there whenever I'm at my comp (i.e. not 24-7), but I really hope the Vault chat issue gets resolved, as it's not just a fun place to hang out on occasion, but offers a valuable support line for people with questions about the Vault/NWN

I didn't see this thread, so I kind of missed the attempt at an alternate channel. I hope that's not an issue for folks.

 

In any case, I've edited the chat applet on the frontpage (edit: of neverwintervault.org, not bioware ) to point at chat.freenode.net / #nwvault

 

Freenode is a very reliable, neutral service that seems to be something everyone is happy with, so unless anyone raises objections I shall just keep it pointed there.
