Strafe+shotgun+ reviving companions if they die. Most of time he sits on a wall and fire projectiles at you, so you just strafe.

Barrier, Stasis, Marksman, hold down "Fire" on Saren with the pistol. Recast each before they wear off.  That was my last playthrough on Insanity.  Prior to that...  Somewhat similar, since I've always had Barrier as my bonus talent.

Of course, that's just for his second form.  Most playthroughs I convinced him to end his first form himself.

Talk him into suicide. Then when he came back, I used marksman over and over.

used the BLUE pill option (suicide)... and then had a Biotic specialist constantly used stasis on him, while I used Adrenaline Rush and Charged Cannons

To be honest I've never died fighting Saren even on insanity. Just make sure to dodge his rockets, use biotics to stun him when he stops jumping around, and shoot the hell out of him. The hardest part of the game on insanity imo is the room with the krogan right after you plant the bomb on Virmire.

he killed himself

then when he was taken over by soverign i used garrus, kaiden, and myself equipped with MK X master gear sniper rifles. scram rail upgrades in both available slots on each, and MK X high explosive rounds for ammo. i was an engineer with the sniper expertise, used overload, dampening, and sabotage... he went down like a sack full of hammers

Synthetic Saren:

Liara: Singularity, lift and throw are good options.

Me: Spamming Mk X spectre gear with overkill, using spectre gear X sniper with assassination, using Mk X spectre gear shotgun with carnage.

Garrus: Overload
