I think I remember reading we could change the colour of the soliders' uniforms, but I also wondered if what armour they could wear would be customisable too as well as the emblems (if they wield one). I have big plans to customise the Inquisition to be a pro-templar supporting military organisation and wondered how in-depth the customising will be.
Are we able to customise our soliders?

I think we can but I am not sure as to what extent. There was talk of using resources to either improve your soldiers weapons and armour or for your own crafting. I dunno if there will be specific changes we can make like armour colour though. It could also just be about the effectiveness of your forces and not actually visible.
We know the Templars can join the Inquisition though, I dunno what that means when it comes to armour.

Right....so you are taking the whole thing about having soldiers very literal.
I don't even know if we will physically see these forces in action, let alone line them up and dress them.

We will have soldiers?
Well yes. That's what all our forces are.

If every fast travel point is an Inquisition camp. And we command soldiers during demos, and we live in a keep where we have an advisor who leads a military branch of an Inquisition, than I think it's safe to say we'll have soldiers and we'll see them.

Do I get to pick from a number of choices, or draw my own? Or it is sort of like the middle ground between the two that Diablo III allows?

I do hope that the Inquisition forces we see are varied and match the decisions that we make as the Inquisitor, such as which factions we ally ourselves with. Something more like the Battle for Denerum (sp?) in DA:O and less like the Battle for Earth in ME 3.
Nothing is more annoying (to me) then for the story beat me over the head, telling me that I need to recruit everyone I can, that the entire world/galaxy needs to band together or die; for me to spend hours and hours building alliances, and enlisting aid where ever I can find it; and then get to the point where all of my collected forces will be needed most….. and for the armies under my command being comprised solely of humans.
I want to see Dwarves, Elves, Qunari, Mages, Templars, and even various fantasy creatures (should the game allow the player to side with such creatures) filling my ranks. I don't want the game to say how everyone is needed fight the big bad, but then for it to turn around and show that humans are the only ones that are apparently capable of fighting.

You're picturing the battle of Denerim?

We can definitely customize the symbols, and heraldry. Idk abt the armor and the visuals of it, tho. I believe sum months ago Laidlaw said we could, but it wasn't clear if he meant the soldiers, or our actual companions.
I hope we can, even if just a lil bit.

An updated scenario that would include all of the bells and whistle of DA:I, but yes, I would prefer a Battle of Denerim mechanic; wherein player choices and the various factions they allied with showing up in both cut-scenes and gameplay; over a Battle for Earth scenario, with zero deviation on the forces fighting; minus one 6 second cutscene.
I would also like to see my varied Inquisitorial forces in the game world before the end game battle as well. If I start to spread my Inquisition's influence in an area, and I recently acquired access to dwarven golems, I would like to see them out on patrol, or guarding my keeps.
