I believe that will be an option.

Personally, I would prefer if it's not an option. Hornless are supposed to be extremely rare so I'd prefer more horn options than a lack of horns option.
So then......don't make a hornless qunari?
I don't see the issue here. If you don't want to be hornless because it breaks the lore for you, then don't make a hornless qunari. It's not like it's an MMO and you are going to have to look at thousands of hornless qunari in your game.
Plus, we are talking about one qunari per game, so unless there are a bunch of hornless qunari NPCs, it can still be extremely rare, right? I mean, redheads are pretty rare too, but I can make one of them in the game.

As I said in my original post, I would rather see more horn options than a no horn option that really only exists, and was given canon status, because the game engine couldn't handle putting a helmet on something that has horns.
I want my Vashoth to look the part. The horns are key to the race's design. It's part of what sets them apart from three other non-horned races.
If you want to play a race without horns, play a human, elf, or dwarf. Qunari were always meant to have horns.

Indeed, also some qunari remove them on purpose to appear more intimidating to those following the Qun, as hornless are considered somewhat disturbing to them. It wouldn't be surprising if playable qunari did that, considering the fact he/she is a Vashoth.

This creates yet another question. If we have a hornless Qunari, can they wear a helmet?

Does a dissenting opinion automatically require you to defend the popular opinion?
I will never understand why people want to advocate for not having options that other people are interested in. If you aren't interested in that look, then don't pick it. I don't understand the desire to take that choice away from people who want it. Mind-boggling to me, really.

Doubtful. Helmets are scaled to the size of each model, and I doubt they're going scale each helmet for the Qunari on the off chance that the player decides to remove the horns, and I doubt there's a system in place to recognise the Qunari PC as hornless. The game probably just flags them as "Qunari".

I wonder if we can have shaved horns a la Hellboy.

I am for this. I am not sure if I want horns or not for my qunari. I mainly want to be the qunari because they are tall and bigger not because of the horns. Although I think the horns are cool.

You're probably right. I remember Bioware saying that Qunari "have a different head slot." What does this mean? Will there be qunari specific alternatives to helmets like masks? Dat dere Serabaas mask was wicked.

They haven't mentioned what it could be, just that they'll be getting a "head slot" that isn't a helmet. I've seen speculation include masks, headbands/circlets and kaddis-style war paint. I suppose it could be any of those, and at the same time, it could be none of them.

Well, we've seen shots of Iron Bull with and without his eye patch, so I suppose it probably is face-wear.

Perhaps all of those will be included and classified as "Qunari headwear".

I don't plan to pick one myself on my first attempt at one but Hornless Qunari are hardly rare enough to be lore breaking for a protagonist.

My friend saw the f!Inquisitor and didn't like the look of the horns . Then he saw Iron Bull and didn't like the horns there either . He plan on seeing if there are more choice , if not he will play his Qunari horn-less .
I homewhever will have horns be them fugly or not . And I don't care about the lore....either . I just want Horns ![]()
As for your remark , peoples pay for the game and that give them the right to play anyway they want . Just like you want to play your Qunari by the 'Lore' .

What and how the qunari were meant to be is less relevant now, 5 years and two games later. Most of the qunari have horns, some don't, that's part of the lore now. If you choose qunari to be your protagonist only because they have horns, well, good for you. I don't want to play a race without horns. I want to play a qunari without horns. I want to play qunari because of the dynamics I hope it will bring and I also hope that other characters in the game will acknowledge my qunari being hornless.

I expect there would be a choice for hornless Kossith, although personally i would always give my Kossith's horns, otherwise i'm just making a giant man
