Seriously in Mass Effect 1 every character I made looked really asian and I tried like 5 times but I guess I just suck at life. Was it just me or was that for everyone. I hope they made more options, especially hair, whats with having one good haircut for guy characters. Its like they wanted our character to be ugly so we had to watch him the whole game and go " Oh god I created a monster!" Maybe its just me...

LOL this is what happened to me when I started playing mass effect, I couldn't make my guy not look asian. I simply stuck with the pre-made shep and decided to wait for ME2 thinking that the character creator will be better, hopefully it will be.

My first character looked like a young Bruce Willis. I think it's just you, Mr. Cheese. I believe that the first 'wrinkle-less' complexion option did encourage a more east asian appearance. But if you're repeatedly picking the same option and expecting a different result then yes; you do suck at life.

They had sliders in the FaceGen that had more asian looking features, same as African American - I think you were just doing it wrong.

The few at the very end of the list looked very caucasian to me.

I suggest checking out the celebrity faces threads for ME1, it will help you get familiar with how to make your character actually look like a real person.

Umm...you could make your character any race you wanted too, you were not forced to choose a latino (not asian) default shepard

Yes. The "youngest" complexion erases the crease of the eyelid, making the eyes look more asian. It was like this on female Shepards too, except the young complexion gave her freckles as well.

And what is wrong with Asian people might I ask? On a side note, the best looking characters I came up with looked vaguely like Summer Glau, which works very well for me.

You gotta be kidding me, 2 hair styles to choose from again? Why do Bioware put so little hair options in their game, to me its alot more interesting to have more hair to chose from then how far your eyebrows stick out from your head

You guys have it lucky. Do you have any idea how hard it is to create a half Thai, half Polish character in a game? He is right though...Most of the eyes had an asian look to them

Umm...if you actually read what i wrote i said i could not make a non-asian character even if i tried, I know they did not force me to have an asian pre set

i had the same problem, every person i made looked asian... it was always the eyes though and nothings wrong with asians, its just some of us arnt asians and would like em to look caucasian, or whatever other people are.

Seems to be garnering mixed responses this thread. Perhaps we should breed those that were only able to create Asian characters, with those that were only able to create caucasian characters.

We'll 'ave ourselves one super race then.

I know! I know exactly what your talking about! It's the eyes. =.= They don't have enough non-asian eyes. Hell, it's a Bioware problem. I'm ten hours into a playthrough before I realize I have asian eyes. Everytime I looked at my character I saw the eyes! It sucked! Had to start again.



Hope they have more eyes this time around.
