If you tell Isabella that you'll leave on the ship with her does that stop you from becoming viscount???

I'm pretty sure I did this on my third playthrough, and no it didn't prevent me from becoming viscount :)

I think viscount is automatic if you sid with the Templars.

Ok, great, that's a relief. I'm basically achievement hunting right now.

I think I've made a mistake. I romanced Isabela, got her to return the Qunari book by the end of Act 2, and affirmed our romance in Act 3.

Then later I slept with Merrill and invited her to stay at the Hawke estate.

I don't know when I'll have the option of breaking up with Merrill before the Last Straw. I realize I won't be sticking around to become viscount, so Isabela's ship looks really good for an escape plan.

Well, I think Hawke gets away no matter what you do, so no worries there :)

Hawke does get away no matter what, but I'm afraid your romance with Isabela is over, Andreas Amell. Once you sleep with Merrill and invite her to move in, she is your one and only for the rest of the game. There is no option to break up with her.

Thanks for telling me that. I'll go back and say it was a one-time thing.

For the record Anders and Merrill are pretty much juggeranaut romances.

You romance them they lock you out from everyone else. I think you might be safe if you break up with them right after sleeping with them but I don't risk it *shrug*

Fenris on the other hand is skittish and pretty much runs away if you romance any after him. So if you want to romance him don't sleep with anyone after him.

How? How did you even do this? Romancing should stop in Act 2.

Isabella will eventually leave Hawke because she went travelling with Alistair and Varric after.

How depressing (I haven't read the books/comics, so I don't know all of that information). Well, hopefully she and Hawke are still together, but Isabela just went off on her own for a while to deal with some things. Kind of like how Zevran leaves the Warden for a while to deal with the Crows (as implied in his DAA love letter codex and his missing dialogue in DA2). Otherwise, I may not want to romance Isabela again. I'm a sucker for happy endings. :)

That event exists within Bioware canon and does not apply to all possible world states. After all it is entirely possible for Alistair to be dead. Kind of hard to travel with a corpse. :P

Yeah, if something from that story contradicts individual playthroughs then it doesn't override them. If Hawke is with Isabela, then I would suspect it's more likely that either she stays with them or Hawke goes with her.

Does the comic talk about her motives for going on Alistiar's quest?

Lol.  I just got ninjamanced by Merrill, too.  I must have flirted with her by accident at some point.  Then, she showed up at the estate and I couldn't bear the hurt-puppy face.  Now, Hawke's stuck with her.  And he was going to sail off with Isabela, too.  I'm pretty sure, even if you break it off after one night, Isabela won't continue a romance, because Merrill's her friend.   I wish I hadn't flirted with her, but I've no hope of figuring out when, or desire to replay hours of game.  Rats.  Maybe I'll just start a new Hawke.
