Tbh I don't really know why they included MP. They said it doesn't contribute in any way to the story like ME did, the classes are gender locked etc. So it's basically a downgraded form of the SP. I'd rather they do away with MP and take time to address noticable problems/issues: More hairstyles for Qunair, different casual outfits/ armour for Skyhold, more specialisations for the Inquisitor (I'm looking at you Blood Mage), better beard/hair textures, bug fixes for companions walking in circles, close-up camera for conversations (no matter how small the conversation).
Will you jump right in to multiplayer?

Oh dear.
Why include MP? Because it adds to the world and it's awesome. How would doing away with it help you get your quibbles addressed?
As far as the minor stuff: qunari hair/pyjamas etc - There's a good chance with the qunari hair but pyjamas less so.
And re: close up camera conversations - it was clearly explained that those extra conversations were only possible that way or not at all for cinematics budgetary reasons.

I'll try a bit of multiplayer first to get a feel for combat (and if the gamestop I pre-ordered from has a midnight release). Also, I've never played as a warrior so I will try that. After that I will mostly be focused on the single player campaign (elven archer or qunari mage?)

I don't really see how it adds to the world, you just fight enemies you would otherwise fight in the SP. Doing away with it would leave the team more time to perfect the things that actually matter: the things that make DA a good RPG (of which the multiplayer is not). Removing the multiplayer budget would also leave funds to sort out that issue with conversations. Problem(s) solved, everyone can have a good experience desired from the DA series.

You're missing the point on many levels.Tbh I don't really know why they included MP. They said it doesn't contribute in any way to the story like ME did, the classes are gender locked etc. So it's basically a downgraded form of the SP. First, the only "contribution" ME3MP did for SP was that you didn't have to play everything in SP to complete the story. It's the opposite of what I would consider contributing to SP. Considering the ability to skip some part of SP as a contribution would be some twisted logic...
Second, the SP alone will sell X million copies. Eventually, you hit a point of diminishing return where investing in more hairstyles, armors or specializations doesn't makes sense financially. No amount of MP can fix a SP problem. EA and Bioware are businesses, you can't fault them because they want to make a profit at the end of the day.
Third, MP doesn't steal money from SP. Adding MP will sell Y extra copies because it targets a different audience with some overlap. The budget for MP is based on how much they expect to get from it. They wouldn't add an MP if they wouldn't turn a profit out of it. And I'm pretty sure they do as they release free DLCs which wouldn't be possible otherwise... I'd even wager MP will be more profitable than SP in the long run.
Fourth, SP or MP alone would have lower budgets. Targeting both of them allows Bioware to re-use assets which lower the cost for both modes. In turn, it allows to put the extra money on getting a better story, adding more characters, adding more options, fixing bugs, etc., for both SP and MP. Getting both doesn't lower the budget for either of them, on the contrary it allows more work to be put into each one of them.
I'll let you ponder on what I've explained here, you'll eventually realize you were too quick to condemn.

Most people are looking forward to playing some multiplayer (some a great deal of multiplayer). If we are talking about things that actually matter, I would not count Qunari hair or casual clothing in that list, even if they are nice to do, though I recognise your opinion and that of a vocal number may differ. Whether they are important or not, the multiplayer budget is spent and the multiplayer is in the game so wishing it away is a cute idea but nothing more than that - ongoing DAMP dlc will be funded by the micro-transactions that come from a fairly small proportion of the multiplayer base. If multiplayer was abandoned, there would be no budget for or from DAMP so nor would there be any budget for additional conversation cinematics, which I might add I don't see in any way to be required, nor do I think BioWare see it as an issue.
In summary:
- I think you have an 80% chance of additional Qunari hair styles,
- a 30% chance of additional casual clothing,
- a 0% chance of the multiplayer being abandoned, if anything the DLC could considerably expand it, and
- a 0% chance of any additional dialogue cinematics.

Tbh I don't really know why they included MP.

I love me some single player RPG action. Saying that though, some of the best times I've had gaming have been playing co-op with friends.

For me Dragon Age ( much like Mass Effect ) is all about the story, the setting and the characters.
So i will most defenetly finish the SP once or twice before i dip into the MP part of the game. But if Mass Effect is eny indication im sure the MP community will be helthy for a long time and there wont be any shortage of players to craw whit.
Hell if they do the weekly event missions and reguliar weapon inclusions and new characters whit different power combos ( like Mass Effect ) then im sure we will play the MP portion of the game for an year.
So in short - SP first after all this is Dragon Age and then after a week or two onto the MP. At that point i will know the game, powers, items combos ect.

I think that I will play MP before touching SP, and when I'll learn the skills and abilities I'll steamroll through the campaign.
I no longer trust BioWare stories to be good, so the SP isn't that tempting.

For ME3 for sure because of the demo. At 12:00 AM I deployed against the enemy. There were others with the same idea ![]()
However, I may just glance at it in Inquisition at first, as I did SP ME3, booting it up just to see it working

Perfect things that matter? Like hairstyles?
You are so completely out of touch that I'm not even sure an actual reply is necessary or would be fruitful in the least

I'll play one multiplayer match before anything else, mostly to make sure I'm perfectly comfortable with how the game works so I can jump right into Nightmare (or however it is they call the highest difficulty in SP). That may or may not lead to me becoming addicted to the MP to the point where my singleplayer runs are delayed indefinitely. Mass Effect 3 did that to me, so...
