30fps is generally fine with these types of games.

I'm a PC gamer as well as a Console gamer. I generally don't notice the 30fps in console games. The only times I have is the first 5 mins of playing Dark Souls 2, and switching to 30fps on Last of Us (Ps4) after hours of playing it at 60fps. As long as it looks and feels smooth, I can deal just fine.

30 fps that remains stable at all times is tolerable, but of course higher is always better.

Both PS4 and Xbox One use X86 architecture, so I doubt we'll be seeing massive leaps in fidelity like previous gen because there's nothing really to figure out with it.

If you're somehow upset that these consoles cannot get to 1080p/60 fps, then you simply ask too much from a device that only costs $400.

How naive you are?

This is probably relevant to asking why they are in 30 fps and not 60 http://askagamedev.t...ination-on-data

I rather have 1080p 30fps  for a rpg then 720 60fps :(

Cause I have a 60 inch 1080p  hdtv

-A 60 inch 1080p hdtv don't upscale 720 image good

-720p upscale is a blurry mess

Yeah, 720p upscaled to 1080p is horrid. I can't stand it either.

I hope Bioware announces technical details soon. I am waiting to hear this info before deciding to buy DAI on PC or PS4.

They have been strangely tight-lipped about the technical details, but I guess it makes sense considering they are still optimizing (or so that's what we've been told).

I would really like to know what resolution the game will be sporting on Xbox One, since that's the version I intend to play.

Doesn't change the fact that the PS4 contains lower mid-range components, regardless of whatever they'll squeeze out of the hardware it's unlikely you're going to get to see many games that'll run 1080p/60fps, unless they tone down the graphical fidelity in other areas to get the performance.

DA:I will run on 1080p 30 fps for the Consolius Peasantius.

For those who want more than that, 1080p +, 60fps, get a PC.

30 fps should be a crime in 2014, unacceptable performance, ofcourse next-gen consoles were already years behind PC right when they launched.

Probably sub-1080p on X1 30fps and 1080p 30fps on PS4. I'll be personally getting it on PC so it doesn't matter to me. PS4 will be collecting dust when this game drops lol. It was making me nervous they didn't really show much PS4 footage and it's mostly shown on PC so I just decided to build a new rig. Was going to do that for Witcher 3 anyway.

The developers don't prioritise FPS very much unless it's a shooter.  If they got the game more optimised, they'd probably enable more stuff rather than shoot for 60FPS

I agree with you, it's just an RPG, you really don't care if it's 60 or 30 FPS because the speed isn't really important in a game like this, if we are talking about a car game, an FPS or TPS yeah 60 FPS is a must but an RPG ? No really, a solid 30 FPS is very good.

I just hope 1080p and 30 FPS for DAI on PS4 and I will be very happy.

For those who want more than that, 1080p +, 60fps, get a PC.

The funny thing is maybe 10% of PC players will get this.

Steam pretty much showed that 80% - 85% of PC gamers have a lower RIG than a PS4 or an Xbox One.

The human eye can process around 20 frames per second, maybe a little bit more, so really 30 fps or 60 fps makes almost no difference at all. When the frames per second go below 20 then we have a problem, but that won't happen in Inquisition.

It does make quite a difference.

The main thing is that, in some games, 30fps is more tolerable than in others. FPS titles, for instance, tend to play a lot better at 60fps, whereas third-person RPG's like DA don't usually benefit as much from a higher framerate (though it's still noticeable).

It never works like that in development. Just because other games can run at 60 FPS it doesn't mean now every game can and should be able to. DAI has been developed with the old consoles in mind so that could be a limiting factor. And yes, GTA V was last gen and can pull off the higher FPS but that is because many extra months of development time can do wonders, time BioWare doesn't have. Heck, unless it has changed in the mean time The Witcher 3 will be running at 30 FPS too.

Don't underestimate the skill of the graphics engine programmers on each company. Bioware has lots of strengths but graphical fidelity was never something the company did. Even with ME on the UE I wouldn't say Bioware did more than stay middle of the pack.

I'm not sure what you're worried about. That the PS4 version is held back because of some kind of third-party deal? Because that's not happening. Deals don't have that kind of effect on other platforms.

One would think so...

My guess? 1080p/30fps on PS4 and 900p/30fps on Xbox One.

Sounds about right, that's been the trend so far.

Exactly, last time I chrcked, only 30% of steam users have a 1080p monitor or higher. And the most common graphics cards was an integrated laptop card. PS4 owners will be enjoying the game at a higher standard than most PC peasants.
