What does X do?
Apparently I'm incapable of reading charts today. ![]()
Anyways, better question...do you think they'll have multiple layout options, or is one all they really need?

I hope that we can at least choose which power to assign to each ability button, I hated being locked into a pre-set assignment of powers in ME 3 MP.
I went through the menu while playing and there was a controller option so I think you can change it. I am not sure to what extent though because I did not go into it.
So where all the DAMP classes available to choose from, or was it just four pre-set characters?
Yeah they only let me play one of the 4. But while they were choosing, it looked like all were there. Others got to play ones that weren't of the four I got to choose from.
Did you or anyone on your team play the Necromancer?
I really hope that someone could post some DAMP gameplay videos, I really want to see the pacing of the combat, as well as how the various class types balance out with each other….. and to see if the Necromancer can summon some undead buddies to help fight the good fight. ![]()
From Gill Kaiser who had played mp:
"The demo classes were set as the Legionnaire, Reaver, Assassin and Keeper. I was playing the Reaver.
My main impression of the demo was that it was surprisingly challenging, mainly due to the absence of the ability to heal. There are no targeted healing abilities and health doesn't regen at all. As the Reaver I was the only class with a self-heal of any kind, but it was by no means a panacea. It had a reasonable cool down and to make full efficient use of it I had to combine it with another Reaver ability, which required strategic use of stamina.
The absence of healing meant that the strategy hinged on damage mitigation throughout, and making sure to avoid being sucked dry by attrition. The level was split into 5 stages, with a boss at the end. Every character got two health potions and a few other consumables, which could not be replaced in-game. At the end of each stage there was a font that healed the party, so we had to make sure not to use any consumables needlessly.
The boss was a very heavy-hitting 2h warrior, who moved slowly but hit like a train. Lots of mobs spawned during the fight, but they were not unlimited, so our strategy was to try to kite the boss and avoid him as much as possible, kill his henchmen until they stopped coming, then focus on him together.
I am generally a PC gamer so I struggled a little with the controller, but only when trying to use targetable consumables during hectic combat. The main abilities were easy to use with the controller bindings."
Did we figure out the 'callouts' ? (they were fuzzy)
Is that a very simple way of communicating with other players in-game without mic?
Or am I just making that up?
Ah... can't read:
Up - "Attack my target", Down - "Come to me", Left - "Fall back", Right - "Good job!"
I would like to see dancing. I've had the chance to play dance to Destiny and I can't be without dance animations.
Seriously though it sounds like it'll be far more strategic (unless you have a good healer) than ME3 MP. I suspect matches might drift into MMO realm more than being quick - not sure if I'll enjoy but looking forward to playing around with it.

(sigh) well it could be a replacement for the head butting I suppose...
Did-
Did I read that correctly?
Did-did that button say 'jump'?
YOU CAN JUMP IN THIS GAME!? HOW DID I NOT KNOW THIS. *jumps for joy*
Sooo how do you dodge roll?
Sooo how do you dodge roll?
You don't.
YOU JUMP LIKE A BOSS. 8D
You can jump but you shall be caught on every third barrel and fall on your butt like Oghren at a party... or any Tuesday.
The more I look at the controller scheme the more fluid it seems like it'll be. Everything is laid out neatly.
One of the biggest grievances I had (and no doubt many other people had - there was a thread and everything) was about how the "A" button did everything in ME3MP. You'd be running and BAM, you'd take cover. Try to revive? NUUUUPE. Sorry. You're now stuck to the wall and what do ya know, a Banshee has grabbed your face to give you the kiss of death. Stabby stabby. Once I got use to the mechanics I mastered the "A" button fairly well - although there'd be some times where I'd just..fail..
My brother never played a game of ME3 MP after his first one because of it.

Bioware actually did prioritize ducking into cover a bit. meaning to make it more fluid and automatic because one of the complaints in previous games was trying to move to a new vantage point and take cover while being shot at could get you killed because Shepard sometimes didn't want to take cover in a fluid manner.

Yeah and that was the biggest problem of ME3MP's "one button to rule them all". It might have been nice for SP (Single Player) to go into cover first because you wouldn't get shot, but in MP it killed people at an atrocious rate, which is the opposite result Bioware intended... I'm just saying that all the cursing and rage could have been avoided if Bioware would have adjusted the actions' priorities.
