I wonder if they mean its like ME3, where you can flirt until a romance is "locked in." I wouldn't like if I made one silly flirt to Blackwall and then all the sudden he's chewing me out for hitting on Sera. Back off, dude!

In the past flirting has got me in the end of trouble.    The worst one was with Merrill.    I made one comment about her eyes and thought nothing more of it, pursing a romance with Fenris.    Then after we had got back together in Act 3, Merrill suddenly turns up on my doorstep clearly thinking we've got something going between us.   I think the flags were totally messed up because just for interest sake I tried proceeding with Merrill romance.    At the end, it was Fenris who spoke of undying love in the Gallows but Merrill who went off into the sunset with me in the epilogue.    Just as well we have the Keep because I hate to think how that save game would have transferred.

 

I'll be happy so long as we don't have a romance that is similar to Sebastian's in that you must not so much as flirt with anyone else or it just doesn't happen.   Not that very much did happen with Sebastian on screen, not so much as even a chaste kiss.

 

I think the first play through I'm going to be very cautious about flirting with anyone but my intended romance in case I mess things up.

I've seen tweets from the devs playing as a flirty inquisitor so it definitely looks like it's an option. I just hope we don't have a case of femshep trying to flirt with Joker or femshep's flirt...thing with Vega.

It definitely was rape-y. Regardless of situation, if someone tells you 'I won't bed you unless I'm so drunk I black out' and then you practically bully him all night to make sure he's drinking while being their commander (which forces them to do as you say even more), then, yeah. But that's not a discussion for here, hahah

since I've never romanced Vega, I looked it up on YouTube. Lol!!! That is the worst romance I've ever seen. Seriously. I don't know which is worse: the rapeiness of getting someone drunk to sleep with them, or the insult of someone saying they have to be drunk to sleep with you. And then following it up with, "Don't tell anyone...."

Ugh. I always got a douchebro vibe from Vega. His romance just kinda drives home the whole douchebro-y-ness, not just with him but with Shepard too!

I'll go back to my magical elf romances. Lol

 

That wasn't really a romance, that was just an easter egg disaster for the Citadel DLC. I really like James Vega's character, but the whole femshep thing was just a big no no.

Vega "romance" made me so sad. I get that they wanted to put something in that couldn't be expected to be referenced in the main game, but it was just gross...which sucked because I shipped vega/femshep sooooo much. Hoping IB's romance helps me get over that XD

I had something similar, although it wasn't flirting. It was my first playthrough and i was just being nice to Anders whenever we talked (i'm a nice guy, i'm nice to everyone). Not once did I flirt with him. There i was happily gaining friendship points when out of the blue, Anders hit on me. I was like 'wut?' Not wanting to romance him for many reasons (most notably i was a male hawke, i'm not gay and wasn't playing a gay hawke) I turned him down. Cue a glut of rivalry points. I was like 'what the hell dude, you hit on me! At what point was asking if you were ok a cue for you to attempt to hop in my bed!?' For a while after that i only seemed to be able to get rivalry points with him (sulking i expect). I managed to make him friendly, but man, that was annoying.

Don't get me wrong, theres nothing wrong with forwardness, and if i was seeking romantic involvement with him I may have even appreciated it, but when he thought he'd try his luck and I turned him down (I wasn't nasty about it either btw), I got the feeling he set up a drawing of Hawke on of his walls in the clinic and hurled darts at it, longing to end my feeble existence, but realising he couldnt cuz of game mechanics.
