I will not buy this game day-1 that's for sure. I'll wait, see the feedback, watch some playtrought on youtube and well, if it good and costs less than 15€ i 'll buy it. I do not trust Bioware anylonger after DA2 and ME3'ending.
Is anybody else planning to buy DA:I simply because...

I have pre-ordered the deluxe edition because, one it's Dragon Age, (DAO for me is Bioware's best game) and I just believe DAI will be a great game.

pre-ordered the game instantly. Why? Because of the awsome character developments and awsome writings... I love the ME and DA team ![]()

I've seen a lot of the info Bioware has put out but not everything. I've looked at every video they put out from game play to the voice acting session clips. I've see the Cole character profile page but I haven't looked up any other character. Ive seen most if not all promotional screenshots they put out and I've even asked a few questions about the game in BSN. I also look at the various posts around here and on another forum site so I've read a lot about aspects of the game mechanics.
I don't follow the twitter stuff but sometimes it gets posted in other threads anyway. But usually only when someone does something not specifically related to the game material or just getting really strange. For example Patrick Weekes posting about the "AssQuisitor" and messing up blush or riding the bull. Or when the GM Aaryn Flynn decided to take a shot at the Witcher in response to some random person's jab. That sort of stuff convinces me I made the right choice in not following anyone's Twitter account.

In a society bloated with multiplayer, mmos, action games (rip resident evil survival horror) and mobas - I am eternally grateful for any good single player game with a decent storyline.
Sometimes you just want to take that whole weekend off...
Push your monster TV over by your bed...
Go and buy tons of snack and soda (or beer, preferably Erdinger)...
Shut your phone and all social media crap completely off, shutting out all outside disturbances...
Crawl into bed, dim the lights down...
Grab your mouse + keyboard (or controller)...
And press start, and begin an epic storydriven singleplayer RPG experience without equal.

I'm buying it because I've kept up to date with all DA storylines until now (books, games, etc). It all interests me, but some more than others. I'm not buying it because "it'll be better than DA2". If you don't like DA2, you're still missing on a crucial element of DA as a whole. Only liking DAO kind of makes one just a fan of one game. Not the overarching story. I think that's a shame personally, but to each their own.

I made that mistake on DA2 pre-order myself.

I made comments about what I have seen in so many places it gets easier to just cut and paste or cross post. If you're interested in what I have seen, check out my posts.

What I have seen and much more importantly what I have not seen demonstrated in this role-playing game (i.e. role-playing is not demonstarted amid all the hours of Lucky-Charms-rainbow-colours-Dwarf-tossing-Leliana-cutscene-talkinghead-telling-me-my-decisions-matter-combat video - no role-playing demo seems... odd; even evasive). I am a much less trusting consumer thanks to my pre-order of DA2.

I have DA2, played it over and over again after and along with DAO.
I am glad they dont share the RPG aspects of it, I wish I hadnt seen Redcliffe part myself, though I know its taken out of context.

I don't buy games cause someone worked hard on it or what their vision was. From what I have seen they haven't accomplished alot of what they were trying to do. ill buy the game, play and if its trash Ill use the refund from origin simple as that. right now I have lots of issues about the game from what I have seen from videos.

I've already bought DA II. However, what I find sad in multi player is the fact that micromanagement where you push the stop button and say, "do that to your character" while trying to analyze what is going on is really sad.

I can't say I have followed every twitter accounts, or looked at all the videos/pictures.
As a lot of people, I preordered DA2, it was a mistake (for me). The game is not that bad, but it was not a good game (nor a bad game, don't get me wrong). I preordered ME3, it was a reaaaaally good game until the end. I do not intend to launch further discussions about it, and an extended ending or a Citadel DLC was not what I wanted.

...of the massive step up that Bioware has sought to accomplish within certain aspects of this game?
Dragon Age: Origins is one of my favorite RPG's ever, but I never played DA II because I was never shown anything prior to the game coming out that made me want to play it.
I'd buy it anyway and decide if it was worth it after playing it, and won't be influenced by advertising, rumor or hype (either positive or negative).

After DA2 (which I didn't hate per se, it was just disappointing as a sequel to DAO) and the early info about DA3 (human only again, etc) I outright stopped paying attention to it. Then in an Anime Con there was a fan made DA panel I went to and there I learned that they put races back in and were working on addressing many of DA2's faults, so I became interested again (though cautiously so) and now I think it seems like an amazing game, might even be my GOTY

That's just marketing to build up hype.
We won't get anything we can use to make a real decision until we get to see the reviews.
At this point I've been burned by enough hype wagons that I'm rather wary about preordering a video game. Not just Bioware games, but games from other publishers as well.
DA2 was very disappointing for a Bioware game (but an ok game in and of itself minus the reused environments and half assed story that completely falls apart by the end of the 2nd chapter), ME3 was very disappointing in parts and while Bioware did pull a very big integrity move with redoing some of the ending, they failed to correct the parts of the ending that were the real problem (the entire godchild thing especially, there was no way to make that work within the confines of the ME universe as it was developed up to the point in time, the completely stupid and simple explanation about how the Reapers were machines who kill organics because organics don't want to be killed by machines, the overemphasis on the Illusive Man and Cereberus that I simply didn't care about, plot armor ninja man, the deus ex machina solution, I could go on and on). But the combat in DA2 was better thant he combat in DA:O, likewise the combat in ME3 was better than the combat in ME2 however I prefered the combat in ME1.
SWTOR wasn't so much disappointing as it wasn't the Star Wars game I was looking for, at least not when it comes to a MMO. I can forgive point and click combat in a single player experience, but at this point I'm just not entertained by such combat in a MMO setting where the combat is the brunt of the gameplay once you reach max level. Would have really preferred something more like Jedi Academy's force powers and lightsaber combat. Even the animations in Kotor were actually better than SWTOR as the melee combat in KOTOR actually made it look like the characters were fighting each other, SWTOR was too similar to rockemsockem robots, and the lightsaber blades just looked terrible. Also smugglers, troopers, bounty hunters should not be on the same level as Jedi. Oh and Pebblethrow, I can't forgive how much that didn't work in concept or execution.
But I'll probably preorder the game anyways sometime within the next month just because Bioware holds a special place in my heart.

Pebble toss is so terrible. What sucks is that they couldn't have given us Project Storm instead like other NPC's had instead of those weak ass pebbles.
On topic: I preordered DA I, but honestly its the last game I'll ever preorder from any developer as there really isn't anything else coming that I absolutely have to have.

I've already preordered this game. My first Bioware game was DA2. I enjoyed it so much that when I finished it I bought DA:O. I'm really glad Bioware decided to buck the current trend of making shorter games & to flesh this out to a full, lengthly RPG experience.
Many journalists lately are writing about gamers getting older (in their parlance that means in their 30's) & no longer having the free time to play long games. I'm a generation ahead of that demographic & am retired. I have tons of free time & am thrilled to be getting a game I can really get involved with.
Thanks, Bioware, for the two games I've already enjoyed & in advance not only for DA:I, but many other great adventures to follow! ![]()
