But...you can definitely tell the difference between a "masked" dwarf and qunari...
I'm hoping if there's stuff before the CC, Quizzie's not in it..ala DA:O. We'll see, I guess.

So I had school, what did I miss? How was it?
Well I think they said that the protagonist is "masked" before we get to the CC, but yeah, it is a bit annoying. I imagine it will be a bit like Mass Effect 2 in which Shepard wore a helmet through the first section.
Did they? I may to watch it again... But agreed, that's still annoying.
I feel like friendly fire is going to be suicidal this time.
With very limited healing , you'd have to be very very careful.
This time? In DA2 any friendly fire spell killed instantly. Anyone, unless you had 80%+ resistance, then it dealt like 20-50% HP.
Fully resistant to fire warrior, was even able to stand inside Firestorm, but probably had to be healed afterwards.
Detonated walking bomb killed instantly, regardless of resistances (5% from about 5 000+ damage was still 250+ damage)
Anyway, it's good news that there is friendly fire, and that it can be enabled for any difficulty. I just hope it's balanced this time.
I can't unsee this.
how would they do that for the qunari? no helmets, remember?
Just have an image replace the head with "Error 404: custom Inquisitor not found" or something like that.
Yeah, I really can't see them starting off right after the Bang. That would leave people with too many questions at the start of the game.
Very happy with the CC. I might even attempt to make a Viggo Inquisitor. Doesn't look difficult at all, watching the stream.
I love that hairstyle, and I have been waiting for something like that to appear,
.
For some reason 75% of young male Londoners have that exact haircut now. ![]()

No I heard it somewhere, pretty sure they didn't say it in the stream itself. I think Ferico, the guy that went to the Edmonton Expo, mentioned the devs saying it in the Twitter thread but I could be mistaken.
*sighs*No Elven Rei Ayanami lookalike then.
Oh well black hair, pale skin and red eyes look good too.
I use short hair tho.
XD
It does.
You still have the choice though. I don't even have that ![]()
So apparently you can't watch past streams on Twitch anymore....Why did I have to have school???!!!
How are they going to show our character at the mage/templar meet-up prior to the CC? There's a pretty big difference between a dwarf with their face obscured by armor and a Qunari with their face obscured by armor. I'm thinking that the fall into the Fade/CC cutscene is just artistic license to get us to the character screen and we customize our character prior to the game starting & us seeing the enclave. Maybe the snippet they actually cut was a "previously in Dragon Age"-type DAO & DA2 summary?
Actually, now that I think of it.
We might not actually start the CC right after the blast. Do we know who confirmed that? It might just be that people interpreted it that way because it happened in the Character Creator demo, while in the final game that might not even be the case.

well i'm sure it won't just go straight to CC, there will probably be some sort of cinematic that they cut off for the stream to avoid spoilers.

???
I'm watching it now? http://www.twitch.tv...are/b/573285688 Mostly so I can listen to the theme that plays int he beginning.

You can watch the stream.

It just takes an insane amount of time to buffer. Well, at least for me.
Maybe they'll have the Inquisitor in a first person pov at the gathering?
Gotta say, though, I was really hoping to have CC from the start, and then a mere moment or two to walk abt the gathering--then the bang.
This might also mean I will have to be very careful in the CC cuz I do not want to have to go back thru a prologue just to fix the characters face.
But I will...

Actually I'm pretty sure they said that we would start the CC right at the beginning. Can't remember when/where I remember that from.
I also thought they said we would have a few minutes before everything got crazy.
That's what I assumed as well, but I wonder why not have the CC right in the beginning? I really don't care for these "play a while with our stock protagonist" intros before actually creating our own.
I agree, didnt they learn their lesson with that crap in DA2 ![]()
The Inquisitor has no BEFORE the blast.
Oh can someone please put this video up on youtube or something twich will not play the recording for some reason ![]()
I am pleasantly surprised by the CC, but Maker's Breath does the hair look bad!
Of course, it could be that my theory about the Inquisitor being a Fade spirit with a case of confused identity has legs to stand on, which would explain why we would start playing after the blast. The Inquisitor has no BEFORE the blast.
Except that he/she does....having backgrounds and all as part of your race and class choices ![]()

Yeah...but have faith...I remmeber awhile back a Dev commenting on the hair looking bad becuase of a bug with the hair render/shaders/textures thingies so hopefullly that will be fixed.
It's called The Witcher, and it's based on a series of novels and short stories starring main protagonist Geralt of Rivia. It would be even more stupid if you played as anyone else, it would be be like playing a game called 'Harry Potter' without actually playing as Harry Potter.
Whether that's a good thing or a bad thing is up to you, not everyone is going to like it, but if you already have a connection to the franchise there really is no alternative.
